  4. Hi mate, he is home bred, a working border collie, and greyhound bitch which as been on the lamp. Craig bred him from the cannock staffordshire area, both good working parents. He should make a good dog, with a bit of luck. BIRD
  5. Yes Simoman, he is great he jumps well , he is very obedient, he retrieves but he likes to hold on to what he as got. He marks great, he as a fair pace for a 1x , he will be ok for rabbits. I think he will make 25ins and 55lb, he will be strong enough for anything He is home bred, from a working collie and a working greyhound bitch , that will tackle any thing. BIRD

Spot on, if you did get one, which want make no differnce to these kind people, you may as well get a shepherd, they are very loud, aggressive, and would scar a opportunist thief. BIRD

  10. Thats great didnt expect this kind of reply. Hes comming on well retrives rabbit dummys to had indoors every time however is a little reluctant when in open feilds. He has settled alot in the last month or so and is better behaved although he still has alot of puppy in him still as to be expected. He runs like lightning when thrown a ball. we have been out on the lamp with a friend and his lurchers on afew occations to let him see the other dogs course, which he pulls like hell when another dog is slipped. So on the whole he is showing promising signs already. Would you have any ideas to what s
  11. Very true , it doesnt matter what government run the country, now the feckin ban is here it will never be lifted. What chance have you got, when they think fishing+shooting is cruel as well. When the ban was brought in, it was by people who doint live in the countryside. All wild animals have to be Controlled, and hunting with dogs is the most Humane way . BIRD
  12. Well i would say, colliexgrey, or a salukixgrey. A working collie as to handle all kinds of terrain, from rugged mountain's , flint, in the U.K. Collies work all over the world, in hot country as well. The saluki x, they have good feet as well. For me i would go for the colliex, its more of a rugged type of lurcher, especially the 1x collie grey. BIRD
  13. Very nice pics, my son is 21 now. My wife spoils him rotton BIRD
  14. Its not a natural thing for any lurcher to do, dont forget if its 1/2,1/4, [running dog] its instinct is to chase and kill. Ive had lurchers 25 years+ , and some will bring back right to you and some wont. Now they have all been trained the same way, its down to each dog. You can train a dog to do most things, but you can NOT make it retrieve if it does not want to. BIRD
  15. When you go to a commerical breeder like that, you have more chance of a crap pup. 1, you wont get a socialised pup, because he has that many pups . 2, the place is like a shit hole. 3, Any pup you buy, you want the best start for it. If you are going to spend £175, why not go to a person who works there dogs, and breeds only when they need a pup them selves. With all lurchers pups you take a risk, but why not put the odds in your favour. BIRD
  16. Having seen a doc on pumas, males can weigh in at 168lb. If they wanted they could kill a full grown man easy. We are lucky that they are shy animals and doint get seen, because if they bumped in to a solitary lamper and attacked, you would be in serious shit. BIRD
  17. 99 times better than rope mate True, they are very good BIRD
  18. Well done D.S, i think some times we all lack a bit of patience+understanding. BIRD
