  5. Thanks Mate, yes he as done really for his 1season [77] so far, not bad for a young dog. He is a good pace for a 1x collie grey, and his size 24ins 60lb he should be ok next season for any thing . Yes maybe couple season's time , you could get some 3/4 xs from nice grey bitch to him. He definitely doing well at the moment
  6. Had 77 rabbits, 3 big rabbits on the lamp now. Not bad for a 15month old 1st x collie grey dog. Had a couple of nights when he struggled catching Went out last night got 7 from 10 runs i think he is getting back on track. The last catch of the night was (class_ he ran the rabbit to the edge, the rabbit ran straight through the edge to the next field (out of the beam) he caught it, jumped the ditch and retrieved it straight back to me from two fields away (class). Here you go nick, few pics, yes one is missing he had it for his dinner last night. Well done Bryn

    Phobia's

FECKIN SHARKS , its if you were attacked on land, by man or beast you could fight back , with feet+fists or pick some thing up. But in the water, a shark can hit from any Angle, and you carnt see it most of the time. I am not a bad swimmer, went south Italy last year, went in the sea with the wife a couple of times, went out about 1/2 mile, but never really felt relaxed
  8. Lamping with lurchers, and having good old mooch in the day with the dog or dogs.
  9. Anybody know how he is, he was good for a laugh and knew thing or two.???
  10. P.M Skycat from of here she as a good working line of Airdale's and might be able to help you.?
  11. I would not, if you go lamping, feed them when you get back..?? Only feed a very small amount in the morning.
  12. Bad luck Mate, its a hard life for a feckin lurcher, what ever the x.
  13. collie x wont let you down ! Yes 1x collie grey, if you can get a good un
  14. A good thread for colliexs , where ever you get them from.? With any lurcher you start 1x, its where you get your collie and your greyhound from. And do line bred 1 xcollie greys really have more stamina than a straight x collie grey.?? When you think about it, with any line bred you have greyhound both sides to the pup. Now we all know greyhounds lack stamina+ agilty, compare to a collie thats why you put collie in the first place. The only running dog that can give S+A is a Saluki, andthis post is about [only] colliexgreys and where you get them from.?? My young dog was bred from a 26in 10
  15. DAY , alot of hares can get very confused in the lamp, they are hard to catch day or night, but they are alot harder in the day ive seen dogs that have been bred for daytime stuff, and they struggle in the day as well.
  16. Spot on, the slip leads are feckin GREAT,
  17. so why comment, just dont read it To lads asked about them, one from the USA, so he was told from my and other people experience of this type of lurcher.
  18. Ive got a 1x collie grey [ no hancock] and he is ok, he 24ins 60lb. The prob with colliexs is its what grey and collie you use to start your lurcher x? My dog was bred form 26in grey 60lb 1000yds bitch to a working 22in border collie, that works cattle+sheep on a farm by a mate of mine. With any colliex you can get CRAP Temp, it dont matter Who bred it. The reason i dont like hancock's dogs, i think they come up to BIG, my mate had two a 3/4 grey 1/4 collie=27ins and a 3/8collie 5/8 grey26 1/2 ins both heavy dogs. To me a 24in dog will catch any game in the U.K, lets face it [ ra
  19. well dont see the difference between a track grey and a show grey to be honest...its not like these greys chase live quarry do they? think if our coursing greys were banned then we would be in a bit of trouble as surley these are the types that we should be breeding to our lurchers? as in now even though there are muzzled are chasing live quarry but most important there lines have been bred this way and iv seen plenty of track and coursing greys with the coursing grey being shorter but broader on than back with stronger musclear features especially on the hind legs with also a broader chest.
  20. Colliex grey, they are good at most game, if you can get a good un, they will tackle anything.
  21. SPOT ON, if he say's it again, And your dog is on the LEAD ?, TAPE what he say's on your phone and take it to the police. Then see what they say, then you will know where you really stand. I think with all the probs with guns, the police would not let him DO IT
  22. do you run whippet/ greyhounds too? No got a 1x collie grey, he is 15 months old, 24ins 60lb. He is ok , still a young dog yet. Ive seen a few whippetx greys run, and they make good catch dogs. yea hes a good catch dog when we work the bullxs we run him too he puts the turns in on the bigger stuff, is your dog hancock gear? No , he is bred by a mate, 26 in greyhound 60lb bitch to 22in working collie thats works cattle+sheep. He as fare pace for a 1x, good coat+feet, and stamina should be good as he gets older. Had few rabbits on the lamp, try him on bi
  23. They come from New-Zealand, and they work sheep by barking, and moving the sheep forward. Not a dog for lurcher work, might be prone to give tongue
