My father told me that he use to break his terriers to rabbits as pup they used to go ferreting and bring a couple live ones back every now and again said that it work a treat

In all fairness hounds can be hard work at times it takes a really good hound to find hunt a line and mark him to ground i only know of two that could do it regualy as for starting your own pack its real hard work to start its not easy to get decent hounds to start your pack and chances are they wont be fox only then you have the hassel of finding kennels witch is not easy its broke my heart we have had to move kennels twice you put loads of work and money into them then the owner has other plans then you have to excerise every day then price of feed then worming flea treatment and so on

If your wanting him for ground work id keep him well away from rabbit if you can id break him to them would hate for a 9 footer to a rabbit -

Had good start this year hounds going well we have marked 7 but only dug 2 of them due to being out with hounds on my own

Hi lads i lost my horn recently it was one made by bellman and co buy i cant seem to find them any where on the internet it was a pretty cheap horn Anyone no where i can get another or recommemd another

We will have to swap a days hunting would love for my hounds to be viewing foxes for most the hunt with abit of luck it would be over quick

We hunt a pack of foxhound but your more than welcome we dont do many we bits but theres plenty lurcher lads that do and sometimes the fox will be out of the cover befor the dogs even in dont get me wrong when i started out with hounds i had beagles and cross between them but they just did nt suit the hunting i do

If your springer wont hunt heavy cover then its not much good and needs culled your right about them not holding a line but in all fairness most we bits of cover you could walk them out clapping your hands with same result

Im not sure what this cross would bring if you want to hunt use beagles foxhounds or harriers if you want flush stuff out for the lurcher use a springer or cocker

Hope you get sorted mate its not a easy game to get into if you had your own permision would be better to bring them to your land and build up trust from there
