  1. dont think colour is a problem,as said just not ready, only problem i had colour wise is hen canarys not feeding british young, think it was the colour of there gape, seemed to put the hen off,any more experienced folk noticed this prob,i had bullfinch chicks, hatched under canary few year back and hen seemed reluctant to feed.not tried since so could have been just that hen at fault.
  2. bunnys what can i say ,notice you can feed water ect from outside, nice an easy no disturbance, like my setup but alot nicer
  3. docks never stated that i killed any cat pet or otherwise,i kept a stray for years ,lived along side the dogs no probs, just kept its eye on the ball when they were out of pen,i was just stateing the point accidents could happen when they turn feral and crop up in a wild setting,WOULD NEVER CONDONE KILLING A CAT WITH DOGS,but have bolted em over the years from strange places when i was involved in terrier work.atb
  4. millet bite the bullet and ask the indian to save you a few, they throw em ,but they do stink of chutney till washed out,TWICE
  5. So start a petition! Regardless of the rights and wrongs of it, the fact is that the law protects cats in the UK. but this thread is about an incident that happened in Ireland I know that, but the OP described the incident as an accident. If dogs are properly stock broken then accidents shouldn't happen. The law may be different in Ireland, but there are plenty of UK contributors strutting their stuff on this thread. so a terrier enters a rock pile and finds a cat how could that be avoided,it does happen i have seen it ,granted a good few year back, and i mean rock pile m
  6. some of mine are not yet some can be hard to catch singing, spy on em,or they might be hens
  7. liam abit off topic but i have bolted ferrels out of rock piles and one from a earth near a release pen in a plantation a long way from houses,it was a big thick coated moggy and put up a good show ,strange were they sometimes are found.

  13. why couldnt you visit the pennine hounds old timer, they do seem to be traveling away alot from what lads tell me these days, but sure you could find a few local meets to visit,or have you upset somebody lol atb.
  14. dont keep em ,but did at one time hatching weekly, chick crumb,or for fast results as already said turkey starter,or growers meal.turkey starter is higher in protein, and fiber content.
  15. its hard with half a dozen hounds running em in so with one it will be hard going getting em to ground regular but it will happen,as for marking in a old good marking hound will do the job but so can a decent terrier or lurcher so no point keeping a hound just for marking jmo, what you reckon old timer, have you had hounds befor out of interest.

  19. been at a loose end for past two days,so cleaned double breeders and set them up on a frame around shed walls the lowest cages are 3 foot of the shed floor to hopefully save me bending as much, seems alot better for cleaning ect, birds are in cages at mo,one to each double breeder ,two perches ,one each end so a good flight from one to the other, the cocks are singing well so its so far so good
