I own a collie, it has never bitten anyone in 11 years. Except me!! LOL However its behaviour can be miss understood. It herds me, especillay if I am running, it herds the kids around the gargen too. If you don't know collies it could be thought to be biting you. Mine nips my ankles. It is a very protective dog though. It is a one man dog, i.e. mine. Very loyal. Except if i play fight with the wife. Then he automatically takes my wifes side. They gang up on me and he plays rough. (little B*****d). Wouldn't swap him for the world. Best guard dog i have ever had. Come to my house if I am o

Just back from France, St Jean du Monts, in the Vendee. Took the kids, drove 1000 miles from Dundee, through Dover to France, had 6 days and drove back again. Great place, lovely weather, still peeling from the burn. Drive was a bit of a killer though, couldn't wait to get back and get the gun out. Normally go Skiing to America or Canada in the Winter, just cant afford it this year. I also enjoy this country, especially Pembs in Wales where my Wifes family is. Normally do abit a bit shark fishing when i go there in the summer. Matt

I fish for Pollock of the west coast of Scotland. The skipper on the boat i fish gave me a recipe for Sweet Chilli Pollock. It was a couple of years ago now, and i dont have the details. It was fantastic!! I am sure you could replicate it from one of the sweet chilli cook in sauces or attempt to make up your own. I can still remember the taste now, awesome!!

Harkila do a ruck sack type rifle sling, good for long walks. Look on the seeland website. Montrose guns and tackle have an Ebay shop which stocks Harkila. Mike is pretty easy to deal with as well. Matt

Probably a bit late for a reply now. But incase you need it for another opportunity???? I would reccomend a Chateuneuf Du Pape. Very complex peppery flavour, just works a treat. Can be quite alcoholic as well, ie 13.5%. So can act as a mood enhancer . Definately one to leave on the table as well. If she's in to wine, she will be impressed....

Started smoking when i was 12/13. Probably about a packet a week. Then went to uni at 18 and upped my intake to 20-30 a day. Now 36 and been given up for 3 years. I used to smoke Rothmans and Regal. I now absolutely hate smoking, but still get the urge to smoke. The one thing i really miss is the apres-chocolate Rothmans fag. The taste sensation is just great. I still want to smoke whenever eat a meal or chocolate. But hate the smell, and would probably throw up if i tried a girly silk cut light now LOL.... If only they bought out a healthy fag, my fingers are still twitching as we spea

I was considering a spotting scope, for the same reason as you, i.e. zeroing etc. I have my fathers old one which is a tasco and not good. I was at the Scone Game fair at the weekend and checked out the Opticron range of scopes. I had the chance to compare to much higher price scopes and was impressed. The reason I checked out Opticron, is because i have the bino's, which i am very impressed with. I would suggest you try this as a budget, but quality, alternative. I don't think you would be dissapointed. Matt

One thing you can do on the longer range shots, is to half the distance to target and then guess that. It means you have to mentally remember less distances. Shorter distances are easier to picture. Also, are ther items in the foreground of the sight picture that can be used to help range. eg rock at 30 yds on a 90yd shot? If i could afford a range finder, i'd get one, but i can't so i just use little tricks. When i am out walking, i also play the "Guess the range game". Pick apoint 50-150 yds in front, guess the range, then pace it out. Amazing how accurate you can get. Remember

Yeah, me and the wife can send each other messages, i.e what we want for tea or where we want to go at the weekend. Saves on txts. Also, I have a freind that rings me just before I pick up the phone to call him. Every bloody time. Spooky. Matt

You can get new plaster paint from B & Q. Trade quality so fairly cheap. I used to put the first coat on as a sealer of 1/8 pva glue/water mix. This completely stop absorption and dusting and the paint then goes on real quick. Quite cheap too. jmho

I went to agricultural college and had a bit of a reputation as a joker, so the list, that i can remeber, is as follows. 1. Emptying someones bedroom in to the lawn area. whilst they were asleep (pissed) ie bed, wardrobe, clothes, the whole shooting match, woke up at 4 in the morning in the rain. 2. Someone went home for weekends to see the family, so i put chickens in their bedroom one week. He then increased the security, so next time he went home for a long week end, i put cress seeed under the door on newspaper, blew it with a hair dryer. then put the hose pipe under. You can guess the

I'd be changing the wife Fortunately mine loves my ferrets. Most ferrets love a bath. Keep the water just warm, not hot, and quite shallow though, so as not to panic them. I use cucumber shampoo from the pet shop. Are you feeding dry food or meat, because that can influance the smell? Matt

5 shot only, on section 1, so a bit of a waste!! Also non detachable magazine on section 1 sg Doesn't do it for me either. But each to his own Matt

He is worked, not heavily, maybe 1-2 twice a week during the season. But only short sessions. He is a pretty good worker, given his age. Last year was his first season. We are spending a lot of time with him recently, as he and his brother dug out of the playpen, and i have yet to recover his brother. We are still hopeful, in the mean time, we have one spoilt ferret!!! Matt

Mine used have chicken wings when they were young. They used to love them, even helped with nip training. mat

Thought I would put an investigative post on how we as Ferret owners, can help out finances in times of hardship. Just recently i've been thinking about the payback in a new dog. The collie's getting on a bit now and the Westie is 12years old and still untrainable. So I shortlisted a few breads, Spaniel, another collie, lab etc. But then quick flick through the 'For sale ads' revealed that it was out the question due to finances. Then an inspiration, what about making better use of an existing resource???? So.... Does it have the fear factor for guard dog duty? Walking
