  9. It certainly helps open doors when asking for permissions, even when asking for rabbit, fox, pigeon, etc. When the landowner knows what it is that is.... It has suffered a lot of criticism in my area, because of the amount of full time stalkers, who feel they should be categorised under Granfather rights etc. But i actually enjoyed doing it. I can recommend Greenlea in Northumberland(run by Jon Snowden, help by Laurie Walton) Good weekend!! Matt
  10. Funnily enough, i also grate both in to salads, add a little olive oil and seasame seed and sultanas. Very nice raw, cooked.....pants!
  11. Not 100% sure, but most of the BASC land is on FC. Certainly on Arran, DSC1 is mandatory. I'm pretty sure that the lake district is also compulsory (I did my DSC with Lorrie who runs it at Greenlea) not sure about thetford. Matt
  12. fresh meat, raw bone, fat, and organs... the important thing is to mix it up.. if you fed them only muscle meat .. you would be depriving them of much needed nutrients.. but if you can manage whole prey... or to mix it up daily with bits and pieces needed... there is NO need for the kibble stuff! poo will be less and contrary to a recent post to the opposite.. it Definitely smells less on a Raw diet ! Glad you agree, i have been contradicted in the past for making this statement Matt
  13. Pan fried with Bay leaf, thyme and garlic, a little onion or shallot, then liquidise and set like pate. Eat on toast, server with redcurrent jellly. If you want it to keep a little longer, cover with melted butter. For a change, add a little bacon. Non smoked is better. Yum yum Matt
  14. Just cooked a meal for the missus... Now i like to cook, and I dont do reheating.... So i cooked Duck breast with blackberry sauce, with oven cooked potatoes in three cheese and mustard sauce....... And went to the garden for some veg.. Decided to dig some turnip and swede and do a puree. They are only just up to size for picking, and not old.. They are the most stringy things I have ever eaten.. Now i dont normally have failures in the garden..Meal was excellent, apart from my own grown shite.... Any Ideas Matt
  15. Bet you won't post that on Mercia, eh mate? Im not even sure what that is mate lol If its a reference to jews well "Meine Ehre Heisst Treue"!!! Glad to hear your honour is true. My own motto is: meine Frettchen wachsen. Vielen Dank für das Fragen Matt
  16. I would also think it its the crack or thump hitting the target. Mine CZ with sak mod on Winnie subs is silent, until it hits it's target. Lead on skull is quite a reasuuring sound, means humane kill.... Matt your right mate the 40 gr is abit of a smack Well...I was wondering....22LR with subs and a SAK or ASE, it really isn't going to get much quieter, (Mr Logic uses a DM80 Hornet moderator on his rimmy sometimes, it's good but I don't think it will be any better than a ASE...which probably has the edge on the SAK) but surely cbw can tell the difference between report crac
  17. Lets say you put one on a ferret you lose this ferret while you are out, that ferret can no longer feed its self so it starves to death Thats a scary point..... reason enough i'd say... Matt
  18. Anyone speak CHAV, i need a translation and dont have me phrase book handy?
  19. Ok serious hat on Was the answer you gave based on your experience of ferret keeping? Matt
  20. i've heard thy nip, and should be culled
  21. Bollox, rescues are full because of inexperienced owners, who dont know when to ask for for help, dont research an animals needs before purchase, or get put off asking polite questions on forums because of egyts like you. Like has been said before, if you dont like this forum, dont post on it. But when someone asks a sensible question, they get a sensible answer from the lots of keepers on here experienced to help them objectively... M edited for spelling...
