  3. its a mix of 6mm and 5mm bar llc just used what i had bottom main hoop middle and back bends are 6mm the rest is 5mm cheers. your right LLC it is 8mm and 6mm

Like sirius says any way that will catch the rabbit and not every rabbit hole is the same some times i drop the bottom ring in the hole some times just cover it or stretch side to side there are so many variables pasture' hedges etc etc.The more ferreting you do it becomes a sixth sense you know the way your going to lay the net as your getting it out your pocket i like a 4ft net as you can cover more with them and they suit the ferreting i do . I like to have a net with a good length of draw cord on them it gives you some scope to find a place to put your peg in and when you wrap the net u

  10. I hand bake bread every now and then its fairly easy to do use good bread flour and it tastes great .

Cheers lads its coming in handy Duckwing having a go at a long net so using it a fair bit i am knitting with a loomis net needle which hold a good amount of twine i have some hand made wooden one's that bought from AJ a while back i think he is on here they are spot on for the long nets as they hold even more twine

It was good to be out ferreting again been a long time since i have been out my shifts at work mean i can't get out much .I enjoyed the day dogs &ferrets worked well and had a canny day with good lads .Them two big hobs are off Ian b lol had them a few years i thought i would give them a run out they are bolt or die merchants .I had to beg our lass for the motor millet as me jimnys not well lol vibrating like feck at 50 i hope i can get another day out before i gan back to work. Them pie's and cake was very nice .
  15. Well after years of me making do with a stick wedged between my knees to load my needles i made a twine holder out of oak and a bit brass bar turned out ok apart from a small knot that came away from the edge when i was routing the base it does the job lol.

Well done nice bit of knitting i have made purse nets for a long time but i have started my first long net last week lol out of some orange spun polly ive had a few years its a bit thiner than i would normally use for my purse nets but should make a canny long net . I am just picking up the needle and knitting a bit when i feel like it so it might take a while to do lol when i run out of orange twine thats how long it will be .

  21. some of my pegs oak& ash i use all sorts of hard woods whittled then shaped on the grinder and sanded . use a bit mig wire to pull the nylon through the hole
