i have got some nellie like you i thought i would try some it knits up a bit like hemp and it knots well but you can get the odd fibre breaking away and it looks like it is not tight spun but it does not affect the net, it purses well when a rabbit hits i was told to treat it like hemp and hang your nets to dry after you been ferreting. As for how long they will last not sure as only used them 6 or 7 times but they seem ok i made some for a mate and he has been happy enough with them.

For ferreting best to chin the rabbit in the net then put the rabbit in the net to one side giving you time to get another net on quick it is then easier to remove the dead rabbit from the net .When lamping i will chin them or use the pull down necking method .

Carraghsgem not in denial here and not saying that some fool has not done this but to say that many ferrets come into rescues with teeth cut but how do you know for sure that the teeth have been cut and there is no other explanation for it and like i said in 40 year of keeping ferrets never seen one ferret with cut teeth.

Same here Tomo i am a ex miner and i would have thought they would have a mine rescue team and something in place to deal with gas build up they didn't look like they had much idea what they were going to do.RIP lads so sad for the families .I watched the trimdon explosion clip with interest as my great grandfather george robson was the youngest survivor at 13 years old .

Hi kenny243 have you tried knitting a net with a different twine worth a try good luck with the net making i am sure you will get there in the end and your writing is not to bad considering your from belgium .

I have been making a few poly linen nets only used them once back end last season but they work fine handle a bit like hemp net but feel softer .It knits up ok but you do get the odd fibre break when your pulling your knot tight dose not effect the net though its best to dry them out after use.
