  1. As the title says, i know a lot of people on this site have got/used both, so what do you prefer and why? I do enjoy both, but my Hw97 always feels more satisfying, to be fair, i'm more accurate at a set target with a pcp, but when out in the field, it is just as accurate as my pcp's because it comes down more to my ability to judge ranges, wind etc. It's the one gun i'd never sell. So what do the rest of you think?
  2. You should get a couple of hundred quid for the streetfighter, if it runs, bloody good engines the VFR. I use Park Street Guns in Park Street, between St Albans and Radlett. They seem helpfull enough, but it's not like i am in there all the time.
  3. Jeeeezz, Am i right in thinking you bought an air rifle, plonked a scope on the top and went out shooting at Animals? OK, so you have Totally gone about things the wrong way, and unfortunately it's probably gonna cost you a few quid. First thing you want to do is take some pictures of your Rifle, stick it on Gunstar, or some such website and put it away until it is sold. Secondly, do as secretagentmole says and put the Harley on a Harley owners/collectors/restorer's website, between the two you should raise enough capitol to begin looking for a decent rifle and scope. In the mean t
  4. What with one thing or another, a days Ferreting has become a pretty rare occerance for me this year, but I made time on Saturday, got to my permission at about 11am, (partly due to my hangover, but mainly due to my lazy arsed buddy's, equally bad hangover,) We got to the first warren, which is only a Little 7 hole'er, but has always produced at least 2 or 3 pot fillers. ;-) nets were all set, collars fitted and checked, and in goes my little Jill. She's only down a couple of minutes and BANG, a rabbit bolts from one of the holes but misses the net :-( "WHO THE F£&K SET THAT NET?" I ask
  5. Blimey, if I only went when there were no young, I'd do from about the middle of November until the end of December. They seem to be around nearly all year now. Don't know why, but that's the way it has been round here recent years.
  6. Should be fine, as said above, as long as the river isn't running into the warren. What is it you are actually worried about? The water lever inside the warren? The ferrets coming out into the river? Or you getting soaked grabbing a struggling rabbit in a net? :-)
  7. Mine is! 3yrs and still faultless. Sorry, can't help with the indexing problem though, if it's intermittent, it sounds like it is maybe not being installed correctly, but I'm guessing you have checked that it is. Hi Stealthy! Long time no talk! Now then mate, where have you been, not seen you on for ages, thought you had given up Dosnt look like he's given up....................................................chasing parked cars You cheeky Fecker! That picture was taken BEFORE the accident! Hehe. No, I ain't given up Stealthy, still do the ferrets too, jus

  9. If that is the case, does that mean I am screwed by owning my HW100? Because I know for a fact, it CAN be made to shoot over 12ftlb, even though at the moment it is putting out 11.4 ftlb.
  10. Was having a clear out of my garage this evening when I came across an old camera tripod. Well, it was just about to go in the bin, when I thought to myself, now that could make a pretty good rifle rest. I thought about adapting the detachable "shoe" to fit the rifle but couldn't really see much benefit in having to attach the rifle to the tripod, too time consuming! So for a simple solution, I simply taped a sponge to the top with gaffer tape, (waterproof) and tried it in the garden, Fantastic! Totally adjustable legs for any type of ground, can have it low for kneeling shots or high for s
  11. Hi mate, would you be willing to post?
  12. Always seems to get a lot of attention this question, I'm guessing it's usually Chavy "types" that are interested in it, simply because they can tell their mates " I've got a REAL polecat, big as a Rottie, brave as a lion, and got a bite like an alligator" Well, good for those of you that want that type of animal! Me? Well ive got a pair of Hob and Jill ferrets that will Clear just about every warren i put em in, always return unless trapped, and wont bite my arm off if i need to stick it down the hole. So back to the question of is a Polecat better? Unless it skins the little feckers
  13. Sorry if i sound a bit stupid, but what makes a bmx worth that much? it looks like its only half there anyway, no brakes is there?
  14. Yep! As Canis says, it is usually hormonal at this time of year, i had a male lose loads of hair one year but it all grew back, if the ferret seems ok in itself, i wouldn't worry too much, but if it seems ill, VETS!
  15. Lol Stealthy, i was told something similar, "If it has a dick it's a boy, if it don't it's a girl" Simples!!! But in all fairness to your question, it should be quite easy to tell at 4 weeks old, the males will have what looks like a belly button (dick) The females won't be so prominent, and they will have nipples.
  16. You still got the ferret for sale mate?

  17. There are a lot of good guns out there, and the best one is probably the one that most suits you, so try a few before you buy, I tried a few, and to be fair i went with the one that most on here rave about, the HW100Tk Unless you are a total stick armed insect, they are not that heavy, and the build quality and acuraccy is second to none, IMHO! Good luck with whatever you decide!
  18. There ya go! Baring a calamity, no one is gonna catch lorenzo this season
  19. Agree with Johnny, Lorenzo will take it this season, he was gonna push the Doctor all the way anyway.
  20. I'd be interested in the nets if you want to do em seperate.
  21. With a Bow:icon_eek:, Well i guess it is still Hunting, but i don't think you'll find too many people on here that do hunt with a bow. Good luck on it anyway!
