Whats The Best Pcp You Can Buy Under £400
Halfinch replied to collytwin2's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I don't think you can go wrong with an AA S200, I have one and they are Reasonably priced, not too bad shot count, Light weight, Can be made Multishot, and as accurate as pretty much anything out there. . But there is a fair choice for that Money, a lot of people on here rate the AA410, which is about in budget second hand. I'm sure others will give you a few to think about. ATB -
Why's everyone talking about the legality's of what the OP posted? He just asked if Lakies are True fox Killers? He didn't ask if he could kill a fox with one in the UK. Lets put it another way, If i asked " Is a Lion a true Gazelle Killer?" would anyone tell me it is Illegal to pit a Lion against a Gazelle in the UK   . Sorry, just being Pedantic! :boogy:

Best Scope For Hunting
Halfinch replied to porkybella's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I like the Philippine made Simmons Aetec scopes, Fantastic clear image and low light capability for the money, and as Pianoman says, they are tough too, never had any problems with them on my springers. I have a MTC viper on my HW100 which is also a very nice scope. I've never used top end optics, so couldn't say how mine compare to them, but I can't see how they would be any better at the distances I'm capable of shooting. 30-40 yds -
He tried to make it look easy, because its his business, Notice he didn't show too many of the hard strokes. "Now lets look at the gauge while I do this" LOL, the Gauge hardly moved. Then he says, "that's all there is too it" To be fair Moley, Pumps are ok if your just filling an average size cylinder once in a while, but If your going out to a range or having a good days target shooting and using a few hundred pellets, IMHO they are a bit of a pain, or if like me, you have a couple of rifles with spare cylinders and you fill them all at once (cause I couldn't be bothered when the first

Hw35, Fantastic Rifle! But for that money, if you buy secondhand, you'll have a large choice, you need to try quite a few, and narrow it down to the ones that feel best to you.

Mk1 Or Mk3,which Is The Best Collar And Box?
Halfinch replied to northwestferreting's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
The Mk3 is not so much a reinvention of the wheel, it is a modern improvement, Your right about the wheel though, it has never been reinvented because the Original did the job so well, but you don't see too many cars with Wooden spokes nowadays. Evolution of the Wheel. :-)) -
Mk1 Or Mk3,which Is The Best Collar And Box?
Halfinch replied to northwestferreting's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
For some of the older guys its a Bit like asking which is best? Abacus or calculator. They'll tell you the Abacus, because the calculator has too many buttons. ;-) I've used both, and the mk1 is ok, but the Mk3 is much better, As accurate, maybe more so, once you know how to use it properly, longer range, comes in handy for finding the ferrets, FOOK digging 16ft though. Mine has been 100% reliable over the last 4yrs, and its orange so I don't lose it. The mk3m collars are waterproof, and can be turned on and off with the finder, although they do tend to tangle in the nets a bit though. The -
I would deport the tw@t. Not a fan of peers I nearly pissed myself watching that, I'm no Piers fan either, but that guy has gotta be the best propaganda against people owning guns the American government could find. Wouldn't want to play trick or treat on his house. HAHAHAHA.

Post ANYTHING on the Earthdog section and you'll find an argument. Lol (Now donning my tin hat for the flack coming my way) :-)

Probably better off with the rifle mate, but rats was how I got into Rabbiting. My sister in law had ferrets, and had a bit of a rat problem in the garden, so I was gonna stick one of her ferts down the hole, but she was having none of it with her "Pets" So off I went and got a couple of my ferrets to deal with the rats, unfortunately, they were well fed hobs, and couldn't fit down the bloody hole, so now I had two ferrets and nothing for them to do, so I though hey! Lets go Rabbiting. Caught the bug and the rest is history. I shot the bloody rats in the end!

RESULT! Fair play too ya, hope it all turns out good.

Love it! My style exactly!

Try holding a bloody fert still while trying to get rid of half a dozen ticks, Makes putting on collars seem simple. Hahaha seriously, it can be a mare, I'm lucky, the ones I use now are pretty good, but as the others said, plenty of holes in the collar, and through the buckle first, it may still not be easy, but its as easy as it gets without Chloroform. ;-)

The same as that Moxy, I have a spare cylinder for my HW100, I had to fill them both one night with a pump, and guess what? I thought "FECK THAT" and bought a bottle. Hahahahaha

Returning to Air-Rifles - BSA or Weihrauch ?
Halfinch replied to Hudson's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Try plenty of Different Rifles, like most on here, I'd go with Weihrauch or Air Arms, everyone will have their favourite model, but what is good for one may not be so good for you. IMHO, PCP's are better for serious pest control, and the "average" shooter will probably be slightly more accurate with one, Pianoman excepted, as he could shoot a single bollock off a Knat at 50yds with an HW97 from what I hear, (I only wish I could shoot half as well as him) but PCP's lack "personality" which is one reason they will very rarely be handed down through generations, if I go out just to enjoy shoo -
Welcome Fella, Sounds like your about to embark on an Addictive and enjoyable Pastime. I love being out with the Ferts, At times it can be Painfull, cold, Tiring, Frustrating, But always FUN. Atb

Can't give you much advice about the S10 as ive never fired one, but I'm pretty sure as with most PCP's, It'll be more accurate than the shooter, Which brings me to my next point. How long have you been Shooting? What sort of groups do you shoot at about 25-30 meters. If you want to "go hunting" Make sure you are able to hit your target pretty much Every time, Better to practice on paper targets first than going out shooting all over creation and Injuring animals. Targets are fun too, make sure you've got a good backstop, and start with paper, then try different distances to show wher

I think it's great that people won't drive in an inch of snow, I went to pick up a rifle from Canterbury on Friday, about 90 miles from me. Normally at 5.30pm on a Friday night, it would have been a nightmare on the M25. Not so last Friday, No snow on the motorway, and no cars either.:-) Seems everyone had gone home early because the roads were WET. There and back in 2 and a half hours. Happy days!
