I know. Try this. End of discussion.
When there's a picture put up of pheasants side by side with a catty and torch hung on the door handle I get the feeling your telling someone it's raining, yet your pissing up their back

I'm sure you will get a response
In fairness. I wouldn't have noticed the torch at a quick glance. No offence Charlie. I assume there was an innocent reason as to why it was hung "centre stage" in the picture and not placed there to be provocative.
But what I will say is that if such pictures continue to be put up, either to get the mods backs up or through stupidity. They will be removed. Along with the poster.
Can't be fairer than that.
Make your mind up, your as bad a a split arse choosing shoes!
Bud, smithies is a tidy rifle and he's ok to deal with, I would say he's a nice bloke but I wouldn't want to see his ego get bigger than his belly
My shooting buddy is just in the process of sending a viper back. Not had it 12 months and well looked after but the lens has all blemished internally. Only visible when used with the lamp but it has been faultless up until now.
There's no set rules mate. Just get in what you can until you feel it's secure but generally I have found a couple of inch into each is adequate. Depending on what's going to be mounted on the shank.
If you have access to a grinder with a 1- 1.5mm cutting/slitting disk, score a 2mm deep groove down the full length of the threaded bar/bolt.
This will allow air to escape when you push the rod into the epoxy. Ensuring you get a good glue distribution.
Over sizing the hole can also be done but then you run the risk of the mounting not being true.
And a piece of threaded bar or a bolt with the head removed to join the horn to the shank.
Don't forget to mess up the threads so it can't be unwound, should the glue fail.
