  1. Good stuff! - Glad you liked Cornwall.... the A30 lets it down every time though unfortunately!!
  2. Thanks. They're very similar to look at... house martins have a white throat ... swallows have red ones
  3. These guys have been out in force the last 2 days as the ants have started to fly...
  4. Aw thats good of you Try slug traps or some of the less chemical methods maybe? I've heard of people using coffee ... salt ... but I think the jar of beer thing works just as well
  5. Zoom your page in to 400% ... whatever it is has darker wing tips ... I'm not a BOP expert so I'll pass, even though my first thought was a gull!
  6. Thanks guys I'm a little bit taken with them now ... they have such cute little faces up close, and tilt thier heads from side to side when they look at you, like a dog does think I'm in love
  7. I love these guys... I was wondering how many I could find under the 3 or 4 stones that I know usually hide these beauties. I saw 8, but only managed to catch 4 ... then the next day caught 2 more. Kept them in a viv for 3 days to watch them feed, but got so much more than I'd bargained for! I kept them on top the computor desk which is just above head height when I'm sitting typing... and I looked up the first evening, to see 3 little heads poking out the soil substrate looking right at me!! They watched every move I made, and I swear they were just as interested in observing me as I was

    quick question

i had a feeling the woman was either bidding herself or getting someone else to bid to bump the price up, backfired this time though ... Either that or may have more than one... might be old stock... have a look at her selling history. x
  9. Yeah that last bit makes sence, thanks for all the tips
  10. that looks a pretty good job, is that 1inch mesh on the front the door? what kind of size roughly is it? and does that kind of trap catch rooks because its looking like my sgc application is going to take longer than i thought and there are some rooks need taking care of. hi, the trap is about 6 feet long 3 feet high and 3 feet wide the whole trap is coverd in 1" chicken wire i"ve cault crows, rooks, jackdaws, magpies , jays , collard doves and pheasants in it , i bait the trap with cut maize for a few days then wire in the doors with ground funnels attached the whole trap

  16. Hmmmm, I'd really struggle with the 2 and 3 year old in this rain, I know they'd not melt but I dont think they'd enjoy it atall, the rain was stinging my face this morning, and I'm a hardend ole boot It really is like winter here in Cornwall! I'm gonna get a shed load of chocolate and make choccy cornflake cakes with them I think... The oldest 2 have got thier friends coming for sleep overs tonight ... so I'll have 6 buzzing monsters to deal with :: especially after all that choc.... hmmmm..... maybe change of plan needed there I think!! lol
  17. Love the A team pic!! Cracking :)

  18. Well thats where a stroll and some sarnies up on Rough Tor made for a cheap but amazing day out..... IF the weather obliged! My Mum and Dad and an Aunt took 4 of thier grandchildren to Flambards a couple of days ago.... they had £3 per person off and it STILL cost them over £ to get in!! Then they still had to pay for some things like the little remote controlled boats and other games at a quid a pop!! Its criminal! We wont be going there in a hurry
  19. A few days I can stick, but this is taking the biscuit!! I had a walk on Bodmin Moor planned tomorrow, but if its like this there's not a hope in hell... The youngest has just turned 2, and there's no way he could rough it with waterproofs and wellies as the oldest 2 would.... Is there anyone else out there doing thier nut trying to keep the sproggits happy? ... Hubby just phoned to say they've forecast this for most of August too I'm wondering how the hell I'm gonna survive the next 6 days, let alone the next 6 weeks! Help guys!!
  20. There was a post up a few months ago by someone who had two fox cubs in one side!! Amazing... I've not had that experience yet!!
