I tried taking the speedometer apart on my old Sunbeam Alpine when the needle was bouncing all over the place, I got as far as removing the dial, there was a hairspring attached to the dial and the needle shaft , when I pulled the dial away, the flat spring ended up like the coil spring of a land rover I jumped on that speedo for a full tem minutes, there wasn't a lot left of it , the Alpine wasn't a very common car and had been obsolete for a few years but luckily, I managed to acquire another one Cheers, John

Hi I have a few HW's and love them HW35e.. HW35k.. HW77.. HW80.. HW95.. I put the 95 into a 98 stock as I liked it more.. I then acquired a Custom stock for it quite soon after I also have an early (pre safety catch) HW35e that was cammo'd :sick: I've stripped it off, it still needs work though such as the chequering recutting as the tops of the diamonds were rubbed away also the action needs more polishing then rebuing.. John

If they are that good how come you have had loads, if they were good you would have had one or two at the most, they would last! Hi Will I have a Stealth and it was for ages my favourite rifle (until i got my career to hold air and behave itself power wise ) I love the fact that it can be stripped and stowed in the case that resembles a laptop bag as the general non shooting public seem to look at you with a slip over your shoulder like you have Leprosy these days They're lightweight yet powerful, dead comfy to shoulder too Mine has accounted for loads of ferral pigeon at work though i've not tried rats or bunnies (no permissions ) Here's a couple of pics.. Hi Here's a couple I made.. I hammered the blade out for this from a piece of packing steel at work, i used a large bas**rd file to shift the metal then to finish, i used emery wrapped round a piece of wood, progressively finer grade, this was over twenty five years ago.. It's a bit big to call a knife really Here's another that's a little bit too big to call a knife (short sword really).. The blade on this was a high carbon sharpening steel!!, warmed up with Oxy Acetylene and hammered out on an anvil (same as the other!).. For the hilt/knuckle guard i carved some pine

Hi 'Fraid i don't have any real guns, only airguns as i don't have an FAC/shottie licence Here's my collection of airguns, there are a few more that i've bought since the pic was taken and a few that are stripped for work doing.. Hi Manco I love the shape of the Careers and got mine extremely cheaply for a couple of reasons, firstly it was leaking and secondly the lad i acquired it from had been a naughty boy, he had been on holiday at her majesty's pleasure and wasn't allowed to have guns, he had forgotten about this and asked me to take it away (for a hundred quid!)- i didn't need asking twice I initially cured the leak which was a score in the valve which i removed by chucking it up in my lathe and skimming it, this was good for about a year then it leaked again, it took ages to find the source this time, i
