  3. I don't think he's actually scamming me, he appeared on the phone to be a bit vague, almost old in how he spoke but I know he's only 23 and a company director- probably has a lot on his mind John
  4. Hi No luck yet I'll give it this week.. John
  5. I hated the plastic stock that mu Brocock Hunter came on so I had a running search on fleaby and eventually a nice thumbhole stock came up, the wife bid on it for me as I was at work.. I told her to put a maximum bid of £50 on and won it for £46 It's much more comfy to shoot and fwiw, I think it looks much nicer too (rather have wood than Glassfibre any day!! As it was on the other stock... John
  6. That you Bob?? I tried phoning the feller on thursday and it was an answering service but ho phoned me back and it looks like it was a case of being forgetful!! He said that he would try to post it after work yesterday... I'm not sure whether i'll ever get the gun or not so i'll give it another week or so to see if it does turn up.. Cheers, John
  7. Just had a look at his profile and he was on yesterday.. I've sent him one last message then his name will be on all the forums as a scammer and conman... Just off to make sure he's not put anything in sales Cheers, John
  8. Sj Another way to finish the backwork is to grind some copper or brass, bronze or silver etc, catch the filings then mix some clear epoxy resin, mix the filings with the resin mix and fill the voids.. when set, sand/polish them, the glistening copper bits look rather nice.. I just searche the interweb and couldn't find the pics of a knife that someone made this way on British Blades but it was a few years ago so it may have gone into cyber oblivion John
  9. HiJack (always wanted to shout that to a mate on a plane ) Here's a few tutorials that may help you when you start making them.. Northcoast Tutorials Good luck with the knife making- it's a great feeling when they come together Cheers, John
  10. I stuck up for a lad at work and he showed no appreciation whatsoever Another lad said he wasn't fit to live with pigs- I said 'of course he was'!! Here's my Sheridan Silver Streak, .20cal multipump Pneumatic.. Sheridan .20cal pellets imported by Brownings of Bristol!! A .20cal Benjamin E9a that I used to own John
  11. Hi Ferret 9.6ft lbs isn't too bad, I have a TH78 that from new only shoots at around 6.5ft lbs First thing you can do is to shoot a pellet out whilst your hand is covering the breech, if you can feel a small blast of air then your breech seal will need replacing.. Other than that it could just need a a bit of a fettle, stripping, piston seal and possibly a new spring and then cleaning and relubing, the trigger could be made smoother by polishing the mating surfaces (the shiney bits) with fine emery cloth ot wet & dry paper.. If you haven't stripped it before, HERE is an ex
  12. Hi The HW35 is a smashing rifle, I have four.. Most recent was this 1979 model, I paid £100 for it and the chap only lived five minutes from me so he dropped it in at mine when passing!! The top one of these two is a HW35 export, I paid £175 for it (Export and Luxus etc command a higher price), the bottom one is a HW35k (Carbine), I paid £110 for this a few years ago posted.. Keep the rifle and enjoy it, they are among the nicest springers and actually come in loads of variations!! Almost forgot to say, the last one of mine had been cammo'd , It too was an Export mode

  14. Hi Rewdogg I'd say go for a HW for hunting, you could get lucky and get a PCP kit for the upper end of your budget but they usuall go for £450 uppards with scope, slip and filling gear HW 35/77/95/97 etc are all good, a nice condition s/h one will leave you change from your lower budget to get it tuned to make it 'especially smooth' Other decent springers include, TX200, Prosport (upper end of budget), Theobens but strictly speaking these are gasram rifles... Good luck with finding a decent rifle John
  15. Some of mine... Boingers first... The Goldstar at the top in the pic below has gone to live in Bolton with a very nice man that gave me a fantastic guitar and amplifier in return I have a few 'resto' guns that are in bits as well... I'll post the gassers, pissypees and pumpers tomozz as i'm bushed now John...
  16. There's a report here.. RIP.... John..
  17. Trouble is that USA have the reputation of being 'The biggest nuthouse in the world', i'd love to retire and move to America but it's getting way too gung ho now Having said that, we've had our share of loonies with guns :censored: John ..
  18. Hi YCH The Bam guns are very good guns, people slag Chinese guns off as the B2/B3/[bANNED TEXT] were really rubbish, hand filed and rivetted etc but the new ones are CNC made I think and much better standards of fit and finish Merry Chrimbo and a happy nerw year to all John
  19. Hi Phil Have a look at the tutorials in the North Coast knife website Click on the 'Tutorials' button at the left hand side then 'Knives', there's loads of different ones covering all sorts of builds Good luck with the rebuild Cheers, John
  20. Hi Chaz I've a couple of Superstars, they're fantastic guns, one is a Mk1 rifle the other is a Mk2 carbine, both have the RH prefix, the only difference is that the Mk2 has a shroud at the muzzle end that will take a screw in moderator.. a couple of pix.. Mk1 Mk2 (the bottom one).. The Superstar has the rotary breech which is a nice feature, there was a BSA Airsporter RB2 as well with the same style of breech.. The bottom one of these is the RB2 Airsporter.. The Mk2 Superstar and the Goldstar in the same pic are the two smoothest rifles that i've ever owned or
  21. Hmmm That looks nice, is it a Porky Yorkie long tube?? I've a few... Cheers, John
  22. Hi There's other 'worthwhile' springers (though the Prosport is gorgeous ).... Here's a few for you to 'mull' over... BSA Goldstar and BSA Superstar HW35s HW80 Diana 52 HW77 TX200 As I said, There's all sorts of different springers.... The Prosport is just the purdyest of them all Shame I don't have one yet John
  23. One of my mates shot a melanistic (black) Pheasant at the weekend, it was the last bird of the day.. His mate asked if he could have it for the black feathers to make fishing flies.. He let him have it but now wishes he brought it home for stuffing and mounting John
