  1. I was ferreting yesterday for the last time this season and had my two jills out. They both started to slow up after about 4 hours ferreting. Is this fitness something you can improve with exercise? I don't get out much these day with my new job, but I never noticed them slow down that much before.
  2. seen a few posts in the past about these metal traps and saw them here http://www.askari-hunting.co.uk/__WebShop__/product/hunting/hunting-accessories-1/hunting-tackle/other-hunting-accessories-1/rabbit-trap-basket/detail.jsf
  3. Mark 3 M Ferret Finder Used by myself last season works no problem searching and locating. Collar has some mud on as it has been used but not effecting working condition. I have also attached 4 small bells to the collar to aid locating the ferret above ground, these can be easily taken off if you don't want them on. Batteries for collar and finder included. Reason for selling is because I need some new boots and I have multiple finders. Had to relist due to time waster not wanting to pay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=181218500605
  4. Had to relist due to a timewaster bidding then not paying ....... only 3 day auction this time http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=181218500605

  6. thanks for the replies. to update I dropped him off at 9, got a call from the vet about 12 saying that he has got a disfigured penis...... resulting in him being sterile, and no need for an operation. which would explain why he didn't father any young last year. So the vets didn't do anything and also didn't charge anything either, so good day for my wallet and no op so good day for the ferret!
  7. My hob is going for the op tomorrow, just wondered how long the fella will be there for? few hours ? or over night ? Cheers

  9. Might be worth giving the GWCT an email, they do a lot of work on grey partridge.
  10. Which college is this? Not moulton is it? Thought I saw you live in northamptonshire on another post?
  11. I have seen a method of coppice propagation that involves bending a stem over and pegging the tip into the ground with the very tip coming straight up. I'm interested in this method and if anyone else knows what I'm on about, have they got any tips or experiences? Cheers
  12. Heard a story of "the best way to kill a rabbit" firstly find burrow, lodge a brick above burrow entrance, sprinkle black pepper in the burrow entrance, wait, when rabbits wonder out it will sniff the pepper, go to sneeze, then knock itself out on the brick! ........... easy
  13. Been our last night and it was the worst night ever, only got 2! From 11 people spread out throughout all the woods on the land. But same as above just flying too high and not dropping in.
