  1. I've four air cylinder about five bulk fill Co2 bottles, A sh1tload of Co2 fire extinguishers and about a hundred and fourty odd guns, Oh, And a box of scopes too! Just remembered though, Two of the cylinders are aluminium and could only be tested at a very few places, The nearest being Robin Hoods bay about eighty miles away from me on the east coast! I took the valves off them and they're going to the scrappers as they're quite heavy for ally! It does seem to pile up over time!! John
  2. Hi all Well! I got the chrono out today and found that the muzzle energy had only risen to 5.28ft lbs so around the same output as my BSA Scorpion break barrel pistol!! I was going to make a 25mm leather parachute seal for the piston head but I found five for sale on fleabay for around £11 so I bought them, I hope making it back to a leather seal will up the power a bit but also I'm hoping the gun will buffer better to stop the piston slamming in to the end of the cylinder! When they arrive, I'll get straight on with swapping them over and report any change in performance be it up or down
  3. The work wasn't carried out by a gunsmith in Sheffield Phil, It was a gunsmith in Hampshire I think!! The gun was taken to a gunsmith five years ago for the work carrying out, It was his fathers gun but his grandfather bought it new!! Cheers, John
  4. Hi all I recently bought this unknown pre war break barrel air rifle, It's very similar to the quarter stocked Diana mod27 but has definite differences such as the stock, Diana didn't use this kind of pistol gripped stock on them.. Also, The trigger guard on this has two screws to secure it at the front whereas the Diana has just one, Most of the rest of it is the same so maybe they made them for a retailer with the retailers name etched on the cylinder which has worn off over the decades!! The slab sided trigger block on the Diana is slightly curved down, This one is bang straight!!, Also,
  5. A few more added to the collection.. This is an unknown pre war break barrel that's very similar to a Diana mod27 but has subtle differences! BSA Meteor mk2 in .177cal.. Webley Falcon in .22cal, Been after one of these for a few months now German Original mod50 in .22, I've four of these now Can't wait till the next Vintage airgun fayre as i'm picking up a BB semi auto Pistol with an electric trigger called a Baikal Drozd, A really weird looking thing!! I should have bought it when I picked it up but didn't and then regretted it!! John
  6. I eventually found a BSA Airsporter Stutzen but it wasn't the nicest example The Gamo is a lot more 'tinny' John
  7. A Stutzen. Jesus. Basically a fine piece of furniture with a bit of metal. I had the money save up for a nice old Airsporter Stutzen but none were turning up! JS Ramsbottoms had a batch of the Gamo ones delivered so I bought one, The very next day after I placed the order, A mint unfired and boxed Airsporter Stuttie came up for sale on British Blades for £250 John
  8. Hi I bought a brand new Gamo Stutzen from JSR before the VCR bill, It was shocking out of the box, Dieselling and power/accuracy all over the place, After a 500 tin of pellets went through, It settled down beautifully!! May need running in as it's been stripped John
  9. I am not to sure of that . the gun was shooting all over the place . on close inspection I found there was a bur or two or three in the barrel at the point where the pellet starts to engage the rifling . I had to make a tool to get in the barrel and remove them . also the crown was one big round bur .I fixed that with a ball bearing and lapping paste .It could still do with a bit more work but for now thats it . the gun groups ok with the odd flyer the start of the rifling is still a little rough but the pellets come out looking ok . To shoot the gun accurately the heavy trigger is a problem
  10. Sorry I can't help with trigger adjustment but from what i've read about these guns, You've acquired a heavy solid lump of engineering excellence!! John

  13. A couple that I bought from the Vintage Airgun Faye at Melbourne, Sheridan Blue Streak and Crosman mod147, Streak is the usual .20 cal (5.0mm), The Crosman is .177cal (4.5mm).. The Crosman had it's original box which seems to be a rare item in itself these days!! John
  14. no just fixing it up for him so he can blast the hooligans from the house the stocks a bit battered and there are some big chunks and gouges so not to sure its worth giving it a mac over cos the buleing is paggerd and the barrels well pitted too! as long as it shoots well i think he'll be happy atb si Go on give it a mac over you no you want to if the pitting is that bad just rub it over prime and paint atvbmac  looking at what the lads have put up i may well have too, if it comes up well i might strike a deal with him would getting rid of the blueing/ black
  15. Hi Dave It sounds like a mk1, It should have a tapered barrel too, It was the only Airsporter not to have scope dovetails, The mk2 had four short pressed out ones and a special set of mounts is needed... How much do you want for it please? Cheers, John

  19. Excellent job of the stock I've done a few through the years, The last one I did was a Feinwerbau 300s, These were notorious for having plain walnut fitted, Most were stained very dark, My mates was no exception!! In the hands it looked like it had been painted brown and had numerous dings and scratches! After bleaching, It went from dark blotchy brown to very very white! Trying to get the golden walnut colour was difficult having got rid of my stains years ago!, My mate had some water based walnut stain which was very dark, I should have diluted it but instead I applied it the

  23. Years ago I lived in a terraced house with a cellar, I used to keep my fishing tackle in the cellar, One day I went down and the cellar was full of bluebottles!!, Many had no wings, Apparently it was the cool temps down there that caused the wings not to grow.. Anyhow, I had a .22 Webley senior pistol, A full tin of 500 pellets and some time on my hands!! I was shooting them on the walls for hours, I'd ran out of pellets and was using 3/4" grip nails, I used a bagful up but by then I was getting bored so I got a can of flyspray and filled the cellar with it, Trouble was that I was bre
