Legion/plummer bred from a pet bull and it wasn't the first choice bull he used, the first choice dog was a real deal and plummer was told to do one when he asked to use it..

I have no idea how many anythings with bulls as they ain't my thing and i have no intention of ever adding it to anything so i don't care, all i did was say what the folk who added said why they added it...

Just a attempt at humour, he's stood in chaps with a moustache and the pic made me chuckle when i thought i wonder what letter he is...No big deal and by the way, it was smack i took not crack..... -
The thing about a proper bull is it's pure and you can sort of know what your going to get by adding it bone and body wise and it being pure as such you can breed it back out,ok you will get throw backs etc but you know what traits the offspring will keep as a bull x has been done a few times with a few things and the bone stays as we all know and that's why the bull was added to give head and jaw size and strength to it.There was some over there and i think in NZ as well but if they carried anything on with them i have no idea..

There's a few break away groups doing there own thing but not heard any of them disputing how the plummer started as such, but that was years ago and iv'e heard of all sorts popping up in DNA tests lately so does it matter any more. Some lads are trying to do some out crosses but what sort of programe they have going i don't know, but good luck to them and if they do it right they should produce something worth taking out..

Never the easiest thing to do but sometimes it just has to be done, fare paly to you and the best of luck to the little dog..

He put a russell over a beagle, then fox terrier, bull, patterdale were added along the way. That is what he told folks but plummer was a bullshitter so feck knows what else was added, but the plummer as such has been bred to type and now is a breed with several data bases that hold peds going back to the start of things...

That's what they were, red russells and other folk have called them plummer terriers.

Not really, the modern plummer has a "better/bigger/stronger head and muzzle but the coats are worse as there not as thick and weather proof as they once were like the dog above has.The over all shape as well has grown a bit longer legged and squarer and not like the dog above which is shorter and more oblong in shape..

Her dam was coalville lines, her sire was a mix of wyremead and can't remember without digging out her ped right now,but her sire was dug to many times and lost his life under the sod.Her dam was dug to a few times and the kennel name was Toh Kon and bred by a chap called Scott Bedding, like i said she did it all for me and i'll still go and stand by her grave in my garden and talk to her about the piles of shite that live in my kennels after a poor day out where she'd have made the difference .

And that is why most folk don't like the plummer terrier.....But as a fella who mooched with lurchers, ferreted both rats and rabbits, ratted a lot and for a few digs a season the one i had i have never seen a terrier come even close to the one i had.A one trick pony was no good for me and i could take her anywhere in and around any stock without any fear of accidents happening, she was everything i wanted and i miss her deeply both as a working terrier and as my best pal..

A few of these stories are bringing back some memories here so keep them coming folks... Had a hedgehog in a long net one night and some horses in the same field thought it grand fun to pester me while i struggled with the prickly fecker, got that all sorted and should have just gone home but was keen so into another paddock and ran out the net all good and well.Went round the edge and walked it back in with a old miners lamp i blagged from a old miner believe it or not,put the lamp on to see if any rabbits were heading to the net only to see old brock heading for the net and then taking i

A estate i have when there was a keeper and underkeeper there i had a terrier to ground working a fox(it turned out to be a vixen) and while we were digging to it another fox came up to within 20 yards of us and both of the useless feckers missed it with their shotty's...
