Iv'e always had big feeders and big water drinkers but at ringing time you just can't get away or if you do i just used to fret about how my birds were being look after and it family at home who would be doing it,bit like who would let take your dog out. I don't know why the Greenfinches didn't do anything for Gnashers nephew and that's a shame indeed but it did cheer me to hear he didn't give up and has found success in the canaries,i rarely used drugs in my birds as i collected masses of wild food and i do believe a proper diet of all sorts (like mother nature intended them to eat) does keep

Get every where them ones do...... But due to the lack of birds avalable to shoots this year any colour has been welcome and i know of one little family shoot could only get white birds and he has 1000 of them running around his covers...

That's max's view on it Francie,,,,, some of us saw someone being proper mouthy and getting called out for it and then saying he'd involve the authorities if any one came after him..... I have thought about it before but i hate tattoo's with thick lines and that's all there was for years,plus the old school tattoo's of swallows,scrolls etc do look a bit shit to me so never fancied getting anything done. Now years ahead and the art,equipment and colours are all different it sort of come together for me and this tattoo is going into her portfolio and she sort of needed to do something like this and better on me than anyone else so here it is..

I know i keep looking at the picture of it and thinking the feathers you can really see there feathers and even the arse/vent of the bird you can see but it don't look silly, thanks Keith and couldn't be happier with it..

Yes mate,just over 5 hours,had a couple of fag/wee breaks and a few guzzled cups of tea but didn't want to prolong the sitting as such so sat it out in one...

See even now iv'e had one done i don't get the " addictive " bit , they fecking hurt and i was glad when it was done as the last half hour of the 5 and a bit it took to do was hard fecking work and i no way was i even going to wince due to the ribbing for the rest of my life i would be getting from my brother and my so called pals..Ok i get wanting more bits inked as i feel another one on the other side of my chest would balance it but i won't go all cold turkey if i don't get it done.....

Thanks and i sort of have waited a life time to get it right and i like my art to look like the real thing so when she showed me what she wanted to do just the picture alone was right and i'd seen some of her work and as like i say is a old travelling friend i knew the time,picture and artist was right. I'm 56 years old so it'll stay good for the rest of my days with luck and who knows i might even get some more done now i've started...

At the start of the year my old friend who has a studio not to far from Northampton put up a comp with a tattoo as the prize and asked for suggestions,i said native finches,goldfinch,bullfinch etc and i won to cut a long story short and as iv'e never been inked before i just handed myself over to her and she chose the picture and did everything off her own back as such..Her skill is awesome and i'd recommend the studio to anyone and i travelled from Norfolk for it and it's worth every mile travelled... I hand reared a crow chick this year,funny things for sure and i did let it go and the twat hasn't ever returned but will be on the look out next year for another youngster to rear and learnt so much about birds just by watching it and i had native finches in aviaries for years so knew a bit already as such..I had mine in a spare kennel run but in the ned that wasn't big enough so hence i released it..
