I di a pad once that a summer house was going on so the finish didn't matter to much and as we drove off it started to rain a little bit and the customer asked if it'd be ok and we told her not to worry as it wouldn't ruin the pad. The next morning as we pulled in the drive she came out and told us how she'd saved the pad from the rain with a smile on her face, she then showed us the plastic sheet she had laid over it that now held a puddle of a fair size and her smile soon died a death when i pulled off the plastic to show her the permanent pond sized dip she now had in her pad ....

I think FD should wind his mouth in at times ,just because he don't think something is true it don't give the man a excuse to be a bellend and ruin every thread GM puts up,he used to do the same to me with my old plummer bitch and it finally stopped me from posting as it fcuked me off when he was as wrong with his words as he could be. It ain't funny,it's ruining the forum and if the grown man can't control himself then he should be gone and if he turns up at the fishing comp he's only there to cause a reaction and i hope all those there give him one as it's a cnuts trick to do imo..... Easiest way into a body for a little thing like a ant mate and they were starting to break it down and take it away for food,a old egg collectors trick when they got a egg with a chick in it instead of yolk so it couldn't be blown was to leave it in a ants nest and they would clean out the dead chick through a little hole without messing up the rest of the shell..

I took my old plummer out in my car to a bit of local permission she had been a hundred and more times with me so she knew where we were going,i carried her out the car and laid her on my coat then i sat with her for a few minuets rubbing her behind her ear like we all do to our best friend. We watched the world go by and after a bit i could see through my tears and i just stood up and made a little hiss sound like i had a thousands times to her when quarry was about and when she looked forward i pulled the trigger with the barrel pointing straight down just above her eyes. I cuddled her and sa

fireman replied to comanche's topic in Countryside Skills, Craft & DIY
Brilliant that is and what a wonderful thing to do ,the canoe not the thumb but mind you that is a impressive wound . May i ask what your water proofing it with and is there a floor as such going in or is it no shoes and tread carefully? and nice one for the update -
I'm just over the border into Norfolk and there's no sheep around me bar a field with some jacobs in it and iv'e never travelled to a field with sheep in it just to train a dog not to chase them, my dogs have never pulled any mutton and hoofed game was my quarry when i had a lurcher as there isn't any for miles. Now poxy hares is a different ball ache when they pop up in every fecking field and knacker a loose dog before you even get going...

I know it's not so easy for others but it ain't about how other folk feel it's between you and your dog and the right thing to do, it's a private walk(other don't need to know the details) just two of you take and it's the worse wrenching thing but it's also a special time of total love and respect for your best friend and i for one won't let anyone else end the journey me and that dog have taken together.. Do hope it goes as well as it can what ever way the old dog passes and bless you and it mate..

Homemade canoe and a stroke of luck!
fireman replied to comanche's topic in Countryside Skills, Craft & DIY
I'm useless at wood work but there's a fella i know who lives on the same road that has built a canoe and it's a total work of art,he uses it and isn't shy with it and him and his canoe can be seen on you tube.. Simon bloke in the woods..... Looks smart that and when your healed up keep with the build updates and well done on not loosing the thumb,, -
Maybe have a change about in the flight, change the branches and make it a bit different and also check for mice or something disturbing them, like a cat on the flight roof at night as maybe something is putting them off??. The bully hen might pair up with something else if she had the chance and maybe put her in the flight (if it's big enough and it's the male bullies that are normaly the aggresive ones with bullfinches) with the others but keep a eye on her as one of the cock birds in there might take a interest and you might get a hybrid being bred. It is a case of trial and error and it can
