  3. Hes one of Nuttals older stuff mate ,solid but narrow chested ,fits most places .
  4. Cracking post there mate as usual .Glad you got your munty too .Speak soon.
  5. Before i start writing this i know there will be some that will frown on the fact that our digging season starts now rather than back in the autumn ,well im not interested in arguments just pure fox control ,take it or leave it . Now that the shooting season has finished we are allowed on the local estates to mop up the lamp shy foxes that plague the keepers every year .We will dig well into spring to get on top of them ready for birds going down and that will include litters of cubs . We started the day checking earths with terriers on lead which is how i see it should be .Looked at severa
  6. Dave mate -They have no chioce .There are not many wooded areas around us but a good head of deer .Makes for good stalks as a rule as you are in full veiw most of the time .Like i said before ,you are welcome to sample a bit if you wish .
  7. SLING IT !!!!! Im black Well f**k off then .
  8. Ive argued till im fed up in the past with people who've breed from stuff that is working but the breeding is unknown, only to throw a litter of jackers and they wonder why ! I know people have to start somewhere but homework is the key to finding lines that give a good percentage of workers .
  9. This may or may not go some way to explain why fox is not vermin and that is that the fox has long been regarded as a 'beast of the chase'and preserved in some areas for just that ,sport .The predations of charlie were long overlooked providing some sport was had from his chasing with hounds .Its a category of its own because some areas ,in past times, revered the fox more than others .
  10. Aint you got nothing better to do Only joking of course .Spent a frustrating day with a young mate trying to explain that you dont have to kill everything to appreciate it .Saw plenty of deer today but not one presented a pic .Hares very conspicuous by their absence today but did get a pic of a coney in hedge in no rush to go to ground .
  11. If it was out the front it would be a different pic of that buck ,come april i know .
  12. Labs n lurchers -Fair play to you .I started off with a few things to say but you have them all nailed down and better than i could too .Whether you copied and pasted i dont care ,it says what needed to be said '.Keep it tight as long as its right' is as good a motto as any .Out cross to my mind is a term for the use of a dog from another tightly bred line to expand your own gene pool and not to use a dog just because it has the required seasons under its belt . Good luck with your pups Dev mate .
  13. I still dont sleep before a day out ,regardless of what it is.Enjoy yourself mate and dont let the adrenaline affect you .......too much .Good luck .
  14. Had a call from a farmer mate to say that there were loads of fox tracks around his free range sheds and that could i have a look out sometime so tonight i made the effot ,i effort it was ,to have a look .The first shed is situated on a bend in the lane leading to the farm and as i drove up in the snow i caught the eye of charlie around the shed .Parked just up a bit and silently got the kit together .Crept back and had a look around the gatepost .There he was about 20 yds out in the field and very conspicuous without the lamp against the snow .He ran as expected so i flicked the lamp on and s
  15. First place we pulled in at is just a small farm with maybe 100 acres but theres always deer here drawn by the crops grown here pretty intensively .Just turned the corner by the barn when i spotted a doe couched under a hedge and just over the 100 yd mark .She was gazing out over a field towards a wood and probably more deer.My mate crawled to a tump for a better view and head shot her off the bipod with his new .243.Paced the shot at 120 as i forgot the ranger .The gralloch stood out a mile on the snow and as we dragged the carcass back ,the first crow landed nearby to peck at it .Certainly d
  16. I expect she heard you coming but thought ,its only old FH so no worries but she never allowed for the wind catching your bullet like that .Unlucky doe
  17. Actually you are both wrong .They are only 100 yards from my door and therefor protected as a study as well as being on an estate that would skin me alive if i shot one so sorry lads ,there will be others .
  18. Got to admit that out of all the deer ive shot and seen ,ive never come across a lady boy .Must be because i live in gods own country and we dont go in for things like that down here .
  19. Got to within 70 yards of these using the hedge cover and a lot of luck
