    I understand that traps need protection from the elements to ensure a long working life but surely its the trap site that needs hiding rather than the trap itself to protect from stealing .

    spot on All im saying is, unless yer getting asked to deal with a rogue, then lets have a bit of fair play, and keep shtum. Theres people on this site wanting to squeek foxes on the lamp, and leave cubs to starve, cos they dont know no better. yer all gonna call me a f**king anti, but thats the way i was taught, so f**k yez. Agree totally but digging in spring either gets the vic and cubs or just the cubs in which case the killing usually stops as the vic has nothing to feed but herself .

    I was meant to get down Martins on Tuesday evening but work commitments meant i wouldnt get there for enough daylight .Managed to get to a bit of ground i have in time for an hours walk round .Its a fair sized farm that has in the past ,held its fair share of deer but now its mainly yearlings looking for new ground .The 'stalker' if thats what he was ,paid for the land for 3 seasons and wiped it clean of everything with antlers then refused to pay the fees .Too commen an occurance for my liking ,but it has opened up the stalking for me ,for free so his loss eh .Ive always done the foxing h

    The reason i shot him now was exactly the reason you would have spared him .As i stated,he has had this head for at least 3 years running and its not one i personally want to propagate.He may look medal class but will never be weighed as theres MUCH better stock about than that ,he was a cull animal in my eyes ,but hey each to their own.

    As said ,good practice to seperate kit from gore .I always take the coat off and everything goes on in before the gralloch .Keeps sleeves and bins clean .Hang them where you like mate
