That depends on the breeding of the plummer or fell,I like a small 12"tts terrier for foxwork as most earths in cheshire are scratched out rabbit holes,it does'nt matter too much whether its a russell/ plummer or a fell/patt so long as it is able to freely manoevre to force the bolt by its speed of movement around the earth with steady baying,so long as you make a quiet approach to the earth most will bolt freely unaware of the danger of the waiting gun on top,its pressure from the terrier that will force it but if you're up a stop end then its a dig anyway and thats where I see the differen

Please dont let your age and wisdom stand infront of showing me the ropes or the error of my judgement .I will do the digging, bring the food and drink ,despatch the quarry and take the pics all you have to do is turn up with the dog that will shut me up .Just one plummer will be all it takes to change my mind on what has been to date a series of profound let downs . You can even choose the earth .Its very easy to judge someone on here at face value ,something you have done without asking about or taken the time to read my posts .Whilst i dont have the luxury of wandering the fields at will ,

So we are all agreed that black dogs are better by far and plumbers[so spelt as all his dogs were shit at pipe work ,lol] are at best yappy rabbiters ,rabbiting being not a form of work but a form of riot in working terrriers .Any dog brought up right will rat ,fact .Dont care what may be said but ive seen them all and a dead rat is no deader if killed by a plumber. Theres been a few plummer owners full of it on here so in accordance with the topic title I will open an invite to any plummer breeder to bring his dogs to a session on the rats with me and then to dig to each and every one broug

In a country full of introduced critters,im interested to know what makes the wallaby stand out as a pest .For a small country youve certainly f****d up your ecosystem.Good vid though .

I personally find that rat bites rarely need treating unless its a gash or rip.best to let them heal from the inside out.

So what ive wrote dosnt strike a cord then mate, dosnt make you think about whats happened here .I genuinely hope you get shot of them but please think in the future before turning out yet more pets .Also rather than telling me to butt out remember this ,the more web time you get for this thread running the more time you have to sell those pets because this could very easily be forgotten tommorrow. -

You need to get a grip mate .Its not the price that concerns me its the fact that you bred this lot in the first place with no concern as to where they will end up .Selling to a stranger at any price carries a risk .Far better to ask about mates in the first place who wants one for free then watch it develop then maybe get a pup back in the future .This will no doubt fall on deaf ears but may be worth thinking about in the future .Just as well they will be ankle biters and not workers eh mate . -

Dry your dogs off by all means but heating is a big no in my book .Drape a sack over the bed entrance and they will be fine in extreme weather .The only time heat should be used is when a dog is seriously knocked up and i use a heat lamp to minimise stress and trauma but all other times they are well bedded and draught free . -

Maybe getting homes for a litter before breeding would be a better idea and who do you think is going to dock that pup now .Hard enough proving to a vet that they need docking when the right age let alone older .Too many dogs bred from just for the sake of it and you havent found new owners before they were born then so thats exactly what it was ,for the sake of it .For quicker sales mate you might want to drop the price ,just my take of what your selling and not a pop at you mind . -
If your dogs near a decent age mate ,lets say 15 to 18 months for a big lurcher and 13+ for a little un then take it out on its own and not with others. The bad habits of some so called lampers may not be what you want in your own dog .Any fuckups at this stage should be your own doings and not the fault of others .The dog will of course be broken to all livestock by now :thumbs:as early bad habits are best avoided .Take it to where theres a few rabbits not loads as it needs to concentrate on what you light up and not be distracted by hoards of rabbits making for the hedge .The run you choose

Amazes me that people have money to throw away for this kind of thing .If the place is that cold then all you need to do is make the beds smaller and more confined so the dog heats its own surroundings .The only condition a dog needs is a draught proof enviroment with a good layer of straw underneath it.Insulate the building as a whole and the dogs will do very well but dont forget ventilation up high .Heating WILL make the dog soft for long periods of out door work .This is nothing to do with a macho, hard on the dog thing but from experience of keeping terriers and lurchers for over 30 yea -

personally id have it removed mate ,save a lot of bother later im thinking .Most vets will set you up a payment scheme if you cant pay straight out.Might of paid to get her insured before you took her to the vet, might not be too late if you leave the visits alone for a while then use another vet .I could tell a story that ended badly about a rib like like that which is why id get it removed . -
It will right itself mate .only bruising

I may be wrong but at 10 years old and just entered i wouldnt put much hope of digging to the dog .it'll be an in and out merchant i expect but well done on the bolt anyway .

Myself and Matt made the journey down to Exeter this Friday afternoon just gone in search of a fallow buck each .The plan was to stalk that evening ,the following morning and then head back to Dorset for a try for a sika stag. The journey down to Steves ground was wet to say the least with torrential rain driving at us coming from the south ,not a good omen but on we went .On arriving however ,the rain eased a bit to that drizzle thats just bearable.Met with our host and after the pleasantries it was straight off to the ground .I was dropped at a high seat overlooking a valley bordered by a la

Because a fool and his money is easy parted!! He mass produced pups as did ken gould, anyone could have done what they did at that time, however ken goulds dogs have left a legacy behind them, smithy and simon can still be traced back in most consistant working lines today.......but brian nuttall has no basis or foundation in his dogs to claim the same. I've met both of these men and been their yards numerous times over the years and seen umteen dogs direct of each men, nuttall terriers have NOTHING to offer serious dog men. Dillydog I'm sure ive heard most of the obscene things done over the year
