    Anybody breeding any stock of any worth in this game will be line breeding .The trick is knowing when to outcross and to what .Line breeding is basically inbreeding to a plan .

    Funny how theres a few on here decrying the vid that liked call out dogs the other week lol.Another novelty earth dog breed thats better off trailing deer .Might want to split this forum into solid type earth dogs and five minute wonder dogs some of you seem to keep .

    Farmer reckons it costs him 8 grand a year to feed rats .He also lost 2500 chickens from what was put in the sheds ,some to rats ,some to natural and the rest to foxes soon to be addressed with a snaring campaign.The amount of eggs the rats take and hide in the shit has to be seen to be believed.

    Just for my twopence worth i think it says more about the owner than the dog in this situation.As said it should start from a very early stage reinforcing what is right/wrong.Does help to have an older dog that knows the rules to help school a pup .The use of an electric collar is the result of a crass failure on the owners part somewhere along the line .Please dont associate its use with the heavier breeds of dog as they are all easy to stockbreak.

    Last Thursday we had the pleasure of a days ratting on a farm where i do the terrier work .I was stuck for terriers as it was a midweeker but a post on here put me in touch with a couple of lads and the day was arranged.Met them at 8.45 near to the farm and by 9 we were there.The farmer had in mind to pull a small shed first which surprised me as its been usual to do it last as theres not much to the pulling nor is there many rats under it ,its usually left to last when the dogs are slower and sore .The two guest lads used their dogs here as too many can be counterproductive i find on a sma

    We actually only missed 3 that got through a fence and yes there is a pest controller but there really is nothing he can do to stop the numbers building up under the sheds .

    We are due to move 4 chicken sheds on this thursday ,30th, and ive been let down by a few of the team at equally short notice .Is there anyone in the Chippenham area ,Wilts that could help me out please .Just as a footnote we will be killing 500 plus rats so good chance to join a team for those willing.pm me
