  1. Lot of romantic talk on this thread .The truth is that many dogs perished pre locator which isnt so romantic .Thank god for locators is all i can say .
  2. Done .Is it a recognised site though that carries any clout.
  3. A rule of thumb for this is to feel it it for heat .If the area is warm like the rest of the body a massage will usually correct it with rest ,gentle excercise. If its hot then rest the dog ,full rest no excercise until its right .If its cool or cold to touch then needs to be looked at as may be the sign of internal bleeding .Either way mate keep an eye on it especially if the dog favours that quarter.
  4. Mate your photobucket is open to public view .Not a prob if you know but just thought id tell you .
  5. LETS GET THIS VERY CLEAR .THERE IS NO KNOWN VACCINE OR CURE FOR KENNEL COUGH .ASK ANY HUNTSERVANT IT JUST HAS TO RUN ITS COURSE AS IT DOES IN HUMANS .
  6. My experience leads me to think its not the breed of bird but the way in which they are keepered that holds them especially on a small place .
  7. Just looked through his posts , he knows and does f**k all .
  8. Do you find catch rate goes up with just the one dog .They get in each others way and same dog does most of the catching .Sharp dogs though mate and some good ground for it .Thanks
  9. Say what you want about the drawing ,ive done it most have but either leave the dog to it or shoot it .Its the tail pulling that concerns me and nothing else .Pressure down the spine can only go one way .A retired dog needing huge vets bills or a bullet .Seen it with 2 lurchers and a terrier of mine that i stupidly drew with the tail and not back legs .Both lurchers were the result of drawing as shown but not by me nor was i present .
  10. Seriously mate have a look on digadog .com.You can place your order as to how deep you want to dig .Even do a delux, call out version in white and tan .
  11. This is in no way a criticism mate but you you really dont want to pull a dogs tail like that in the vid or even hold it if thats the situation. The vertebrae can be damaged easily and the dog never recover .Keep it coming though please as i love reading about other folks days out
  12. Very well put mate.11 pages and here we are with the answer .
  13. Totally agree but like said donst hurt to remind at every opportunity .
  14. I know mate but dosnt hurt to remind people of the RIGHT way to go .
  15. Those people dont matter though mate ,sooner that mind set is f****d off the better
  16. If theres less bred and pups GIVEN to good lads then this would be addressed
  17. Used Wheeler stuff for an outcross several times and i hate a timid dogs .It seems we are talking about two different lines here as what the man bred was very bold ,outgoing and early starters when in the right hands .What needs to be remembered is that once a line leaves a mans yard ,unless its put back to similar then all traits are changeable .Not many lads do the decent thing and consult the breeder as to whats best over any given line and chuck any old black thing on it just because it works. This is why there are those out there that will only part with pups under conditions and i wholehe
  18. The Wheeler type line i know of is a far from timid but then again the man is quiet and unassuming.Sometimes ,just sometimes the owner can bring about a wreck of a dog without meaning to .The Sparticus line is im afraid all but gone now though a lot of lads mention the name when talking breeding .
  19. Was going to be my question too.I would think 7 years old would be a proper veteran .JMO
  20. So what in your opinion would be the result of feeding 10% protein? Edited to add - whilst working hard. A slower rate of muscle repair and infected injuries
