  1. Might be the making of those bulls mate
  2. Book arrived today and have to say it hasn't disappointed at all . Very well presented and laid out .All credit to those involved and thanks for a prompt VIP service lol. It will be hard for anyone to top this ,a must for ratting enthusiasts .
  3. That Acora twat is definitely possessed with a sense of humour .Imagine saying what the f**k you like and no one around you telling you its bollox ,hanging on your every face twist and getting paid . The whole farce wants shutting down ,giving people false hope their loved ones in the room .
  4. Fair enough mate ,seen the same too from lads who idolised the things .Best dog I ever saw go was 1/4 staff , one of the biggest jaws ive seen on a decent head that tapered to a muscled frame at the back .How it should be .
  5. Did the dog kill it mate or live to you eventually .
  6. Yes mate you got it .lve never done the first cross as I hate project breeding but once someone has done the leg work lol I'll have some of it .
  7. yeh i was mate, it been a rough 7 months and still is,with my bad back, but you got fight it if you can with few pain killer tabs.It was great to get out, not seen trigger for long while as he said .I Liked his pup all dogs get on great , Buster and old Bryn just do there own thing, Buck was practicing neck holds on young Ben, he puts his jaw across there neck lol fair play to him Ben he kept coming back to the big bugger lol,but got great temp really with people and dogs, he wreak a dog or a person if he really wanted to, glad he soft . We had cracking run on a rabbit , Buck jumped t
  8. 18 x 7 homemade from a pattern bought one .Mate folds the mesh at work on a press and stitches it with hog clips .I do the internal fitting with a treadle .Based on rat trap single catcher but bigger .All on loan at minute but I've one in my lock up I think .I'll post a pic .Used double ended treadles too but found them temperamental .Can't beat the smell of a fresh catch as you walk in .Years ago I was stupid enough to try to get one out alive which ended badly, blooded hand and a escaped catch .I used to do the trapping for our local angling club not long after mink first arrived here and ca
  9. .Not used it myself mate ,straight bull that is but have used dogs with 1/8 and 1/4 to good effect and feel this is what keeps the size ,something I've seen dwindle elsewhere .I'm fully aware its not purist but results are what its about for me .Many lines of black dogs owe a good deal to early infusion of the right bull imo which many lads are unaware of .Just out of interest D why you so against it .
  10. As someone who's done a fair bit of trapping mink ,my main bait would be tins of pilchards .Traps need not be covered ,mink arnt usually trap shy but wise to cover for the two legged trap stealing vermin .Dig your trap in flat and peg it down with j hooks both sides .Dribble the oil from the pilchards along the bank to the trap .This time of year I put two traps back to back and have caught dog and bitch many times .Shoot your catches as they take several minutes to drown .Use the urine from a catch as a lure for next catch .Move traps frequently and set on sign .Good luck .

  12. There's a few lads up and down the country that are good at it .Bull added to the right line will produce the physical effects without the backward step of too hard and mute .Used to be a lad in Truro that was a master at it ,producing some very good bull russels that bred true for years .The black dogs have always had a bit about them whether some agree or not .Well known lad in Oxford produces some cracking looking workers that have been integrated into many lines .
  13. Got let down by the grey box more times than I remember .Wet days ,wet earths and just plain temperamental .Had to be able to find a dog without it to get the most out a days digging ,something I practice these days too ,just in case .
  14. There's always been size and color difference but separate species ,sorry can't see it ,and they bred with local fox too lol.
  15. Have tried myself but the urge to be in the action is too strong the same mate .Tried tripods but they get knocked over .
  16. I'm guessing you ain't got a Firearms either .Just say for instance I confront some lads while I'm out with rifle on shoulder .I'm uneasy ,they are uneasy straight away .Only takes one of them to be a smart alex and bang my firearms is history .Something I enjoy as much as the dogs .Any trouble ,even domestic and its gone .I have no problem with the old bill doing their job and would I expect a visit if I strayed for any reason .All this sort it out yourself bollox ,bad form and grass ffs .My fighting days are long gone and even when I was up for it soon realised it never sorted nothing .The s
  17. You've hurt my feelings now mate ,how can I possibly hold my head up on here anymore lol.
  18. Our best place just been tidied up and rats hate that .We had 2 last night where we usually break double figures .No more chicken either .Have to find more ground .
  19. Do you case skin anything mate and board it like they do in the states .Been watching the wild north lol.
  20. Cracking litter that mate ,all the very best with their up bringing .
  21. Your idea of decent folk and my idea are somewhat different mate .I'm not getting into another argument with you as we've done that dance to death .I've spoken out for what I believe in ,lads can take it or leave it ,matters not an inch to me but what does matter is looking out for my interests and that of the landowners good enough to give me written permission .Poaching in its oldest form is all very romantic but leaving carcasses behind of hares ,deer and rabbits is to me just abusing the countryside for the sake of it .They darnt take any back for fear of getting stopped on the m4 .
