  1. Very good Rob .Polecat and a rat next mate .
  2. Outside of hunting yes mate but we are all aware of what was required of a terrier on a days hunting .To shift that fox or be dug to with an unharmed fox. Hunting days with hounds are far removed from the laid back digging I prefer where a dead fox is no deal breaker .
  3. in your opinion did he breed better workers with this method? Or did they only suit a hunt terrierman. My own opinion is that lads have improved the strain from what NS kept .He wasnt around long enough for me to see the line continue but he did leave a legacy ,which was as I said IMO improved on .Others will know more but it would be interesting to see what he had in kennels today if he was still at it proper . As to your question I would say he bred dogs for hunt service but liked the thought they were much more .
  4. By hard dogs back then I mean he culled anything which was persistently hold of its fox on breakthrough .Despite being a terrier man I always thought he had hounds at heart and would of been better off with them ,the terrier a means to get charlie back on the move rather than enjoying it for what it is .Could be every pro I guess but he was sensitive about a fox getting too much dog .Just my opinion .
  5. To not talk about culls is alien to me tbh .Culls are what make the rest stand out and their removal allows the working trait to carry on .Let's be be clear on the term cull ,it doesn't have to mean a dead dog .Passing on to a pet home or a ratting ,bushing career is still a cull. The fact its removed from a breeding program is enough .When NS was terrier man here he openly culled his fair share of what seemed to me to be no other reason than too hard .I was never in his clique but knew those that were and hunted with him many a time ,in the wings as it were .He used the services of other lads
  6. Would say it was addition rather than removal but just a guess as I'm not clued up on this at all .The stuff I've seen are far stronger than anything NS had in his early years but only seen a handful and no verification they DF at all.
  7. Thanks once again to the mods (moxy)for sorting the shite .
  8. Your dogs are physically capable of staying all day Rob ,its the mental attitude that is lacking where digging is concerned .I've no problem with what you do with them as unlike a few you are open about them not being digging dogs . That last post you put up was no doubt a precurser to this litter lol and even though you say you have never sold to anyone on here ,I'm guessing should the occasion arise yoiu will not turn down the coin .I will say your stock always looks in tip top condition ,a trait not always present in peddlars lol. Best of luck with this litter though .
  9. Used a Findlay bred dog last year with good results hopefully .Never met the bloke tbh but hear he has a decent yard .Of what I've seen of his stuff though ,they are far removed from the NS root stock and it has to be said probably better for it .
  10. Please add to this if you've a youngster coming on .
  11. Just a pic of my 8 month old pup with her dam ,coming on nicely.
  12. I would stand by the fact that buzzards ain't rabbit killers .I had a female years ago and was the laziest bird I ever had .Buzzards feet are tiny and any bop is only as good as its feet .The red tail same size as our buzzard has feet 3 times the size and will take rabbit with ease .Common buzzards are keen in their first year when the food from parents dries up but soon learn adult rabbits are too much .Just an opinion based on study .
  13. Nice that mate ,relax after a full stomach .Seen one doing almost same in a willow tree whilst out stalking .
  14. When I saw the title I thought oh no he didn't did he but read on regardless .lol.
  15. Without raising your voice inform the stinking slut ,it wasn't rabbits today ,twas a fox and tomorrow its deer .We used to have a weirdo up Dads allotment that was overrun with rats but wouldn't have them killed .She used to scream at us for ratting on a few more plots near by ,made our day really. Dad used to ask her to refrain from using bad language which wound her up proper and made us laugh more .Council poisoned them on a compulsory notice and she was never seen again .Many a good hunting trip enlightened by a good old anti baiting session .
  16. Never rev the smoker mate .let it tick away and they will bolt .
  17. Your starting to sound like a bloke who does this sort of thing and thinks nothing of it .If a bloke has innocently bought ,had gifted a stolen ,misplaced terrier my beef ain't with him ffs.I would trace back who had before and before that until I found who f****d me over .Your talking like the dogs don't mean that much to you mate .genuine lads lol.All genuine lads I know would do their utmost to trace a wayward terrier and never pay for wrongdoing .You my friend are in the minority .
  18. If you think any of this is funny mate then perhaps your values arnt what you'd have us believe .The scouser wasn't harmed ,just a word to the wise was enough .He on the other hand threatened to do me and mine . Sweeper was well within hius rights to tell me to f**k off but luckily he has values too . I hope your never in the position mate as out stinks ,plays on your mind to distraction until finally something has to give .
  19. So I pay for a dog that I gifted freely which was probably not there after he knew I was pissed off .Its never about money mate ,I wouldn't buy a dog back for a tenner .Values are more important than any coin which I hope one day you will understand .Paying for one dog only confirms its OK for the c**t that has it and sets the scene for it to happen again .
  20. It went like this .I used to dig with a lad in Wales that I knew for years ,met many others through him and we exchanged dogs though i never used his for breeding .This was years back .6 years ago I met a couple of lads that APPEARED to be genuine when digging with mate in Tenby .Like a twat ,I was drawn in to a sob story of no decent stuff locally and next visit I gave them each a ready to start bitch ,sisters from same litter Rebel and Raid .We kept in touch and I saw both bitches doing the job with Rebel maybe having the edge .Had a phone call one night off the lad who had Rebel saying he
  21. Was speaking to a lad off here while back ,a lad that has gifted his fair share I know and we both agreed the bigger circle the bigger the rogue .Gift pups to those worthy not to mates mates on a whim .Never see your success as a thing to spread about for you will surely get shafted and it ain't a nice feeling .
