  1. Or they've just got decent dogs and aren't afraid to help them out them selfs
  2. It's an easy job took me about 2 hours on my own, and did it on the driveway just take the full strut off, compress the spring and undo the top, take the old spring off, put the disco spring in and put it all back together. Remember to use discovery front springs on the back of the forester because rear are longer and it won't have any give in the suspension.
  3. Disco or defender springs fit and give them a good bit of lift compared to the weak forester springs. My forester turbo has exactly 12 inch of clearance under the diff and doesn't sit at all when it's fully loaded.
  4. It's funny as fook on here I wonder how many divs are trying to get rid of there dogs now because it hasn't been mentioned in the "best deer dog" thread lol Get yourself out and find out what can do what like normal people do, the internet isn't the holy grail of hunting.
  5. I could catch them with are lasses Maltese lol
  6. There's nothing hard about catching roe if the dogs fast fit and willing to take them it's usually game over for the deer.
  7. It's a shame most people don't breed with work in mind these days. When I started with lurchers there was a far better selection of quality dogs than there is today infact I dare bet 90% of the dogs bred today haven't been tested properly. Years ago I was killing large amounts of foxes with collie or Bedlington crosses and bull crosses were rare but the ones that were about could dispatch foxes effortlessly. Them days are gone now because people have bred for all the wrong reasons.
  8. Forester or outback struts fit I've got a forester turbo with discovery springs fitted.
  9. Fixing them might be part of the fun but breaking down is never good lol
  10. I have a honda big red 95 model it starts first touch of the button even when left out in freezing temperatures and still drives like brand new, doubt I could say the same about any other makes after 20 years of graft.
  11. Too many people spend there life chasing pedigrees, and producing shit at the end of it all.
  12. Haix all the way, just bought a pair of lowas and there shite compared to the haix.
  13. Obviously he wants a terrier FFS.
  14. Any decent fabricator can make one.
  15. It will start itself off, but it's upto you to keep the odds in its favour until its experience grows.
  16. Some people waste far too much time giving dogs another chance.
  17. I'm after a couple of dogs for flushing foxes from cover ideally a spaniel x hound or a terrier x hound or a working hound that has slowed down a bit, preferably already doing a bit or ready to start but I would consider a couple of well bred pups.

  20. No matter how much you spend on one it's still gonna be uncomfortable and noisey lol
  21. First time I'm going to miss it this year but I'm stuck in France. It's usually a cracking show aswell.
  22. There is nothing wrong with paired up dogs if you get the right combination ,what I mean is a good catch dog and a game dog that is not as fast ,to me that makes a good pair .if you get 2 dogs that are evenly matched in speed there is a good chance of accidents happening ,we have been out 1 night lamping with a dog that had a few seasons under its belt so we ran it with another dog and they where evenly matched in speed .the bales where out and the foxe called and as the dogs where running the other dog cut it off at the bale and the other dog ran straight into it and broke its neck .what I am
  23. No that was to fun part, the asbos were just bad for business, anyway let's not get on about ditches after your little episode lol
  24. I still have a lurcher and a few terriers that I can get plenty of work for but the days of lamping all night and sleeping all day are long gone now, but I can honestly I loved every minute of it.
  25. At one time I was obsessed with catching foxes, mainly on the lamp with dogs run from a vehicle, I lived for it and over the years I got to see some top class dogs work, catching them was always the easy part and a dog that struggled to catch one usually didn't really want to catch it anyway lol. Not many dogs were capable of lasting a season and some were found out in a couple of nights but there was a few that I will remember for the rest of my life because of the sheer amount of enjoyment they gave me over the years. Sadly I don't do any lamping these days but I still get that feeling of
