  1. I have a couple that I first cleaned with a wire-brush, taking the loose parts of rust of. After that I've put them in a bucket with a solution of hydrochloric acid and hot water, cleansed them afterwards with plenty of water and after drying I put boiled linseed oil on them, they came out really nice.
  2. Nice litter, lovely looking pups, and nice parents as well
  3. and a few more...... http://www.cdiscount.com/au-quotidien/r-piege+a+rat.html#_his_
  4. Did you see these ? brought some really effective ones from France..... http://www.ducatillon.com/pieges-et-repulsifs-940/pieges-et-poisons-rats-et-souris-6-951.html France has much more liberal laws on trapping and the traps used i.m.h.o.
  5. Have a look here: http://www.ducatillon.com/pieges-et-poisons-rats-et-souris-951/poisons-rats-et-souris-6-953.html Lots to choose from
  6. No, just that in the mid 60's there weren't much guns that exceed the 12 fpe limit. Think the only one which had more power was the Sheridan pump-up rifle from the States. So the limit was rather arbitrary, not based on anything related to crime, health and safety or anything like that.
  7. This one ? http://www.thesun.ie/irishsol/homepage/news/6650618/Farmer-in-plea-to-tackle-sick-poachers.html
  8. Great to see youngsters entering the sport of their own will, just the way to safeguard the future of field sports, well done Kanny !
  9. No newt but a lizard, nevertheless, lovely picture. Thanks Darcy for enlighten us stupid f@cks....
  10. You could make on yourself, lots of tutorials around, won't cost you an arm and a leg. http://www.slingshot-hunting.com/diy-slingshot-for-hunting/ If you like it, you can get a better one, but first give it a try with something like this....
  11. Nice haul of good looking rabbits You get more in your first outing, than I in the whole season ....
  12. Lucky you ! nice picture coming out of the pond ?
  13. Now that's a dish for a KING, and Monchique is really a nice place, fond memories of the place and the food ! Was that piri piri restaurant on the outskirts of Silves, on a hacienda style farm / restaurant ?
  14. Love that first and third picture ! nice dogs
  15. After reworking the innards of the rifle, stiffening the frame, building a proper scope-mount (which also helps to get more strength into the frame) my friends even have put in a regulator (getting 70 consistent shots from one filling in .25 at 45 fpe) etc, calibrating it with the target turrets and using a rangefinder, it's a Grand rifle. Right out of the box it's crap...... but still a good design I do have two of these rifles and after customizing they are a proper FAC rifle ! Won't swap or sell mine I like the single shot mode, because I like the possibility to check if there's a
  16. Yes, HW does it. Have a modified one on my 50+ Fpe Stealth in .25
  17. Thanks for sharing, great scenery and splendid work by man, dog & ferret !
  18. I do have a couple of friends who are very handy converting a rather " useless " air rifle like a GP Stealth into a piece of art. Mine has been reworked to get the most of its potential and accuracy e.g. home made hammer, mounts, valve, barrel recrowned and lapped etc. This will get it shooting at its optimum, Capable of doing game up to the size of foxes. But still I have to do my part otherwise all that power is useless. Good fieldcraft is hard to achieve ..... i'm still learning every day
  19. Stealth in .25 doing 900+ with 31 grains H&N Baracuda, used with a Zeiss 6x42 with custom made calibrated target turrets and Leica rangefinder Land has been cleared for centrefire calibers (deer), so fac air rifle is no problem.
  20. Isn't the praise of the <12 fpe level, not mostly inspired by the restriction UK law puts on you ? I think that if there was no legal restriction on the output of the air rifles, most would opt for a 12 fpe +rifle, instead of the 12 fpe variety. Stalking skills and fieldcraft still has to be still part of the game, game isn't daft i.m.h.o FAC or not..... Waiting in a hide to let the game come to you, isn't depending much on your stalking of fieldcraft skills, it only depends on staying still and using good camo material. I do have a 50 fpe airrifle in .25, and I still have to do
  21. Great action and nice dogs, something unthinkable to do in this country, the bunny-huggers would kill you , although it's natural behaviour of the dogs.
