  1. Yes definitely money, even if you find good value you have to buy a box full of meat which isn't affordable for a lot of folk, if you're on the bread line then obviously you go for cheap stuff, but I think exploring high quality meat should be encouraged , even as you say you look for cheap cuts from the butcher, maybe neck of lamb or some beef skirt, or some of the offal, god forbid lol. I like liver but I could happily leave kidney or tripe or any of that, love black pud mind and apparently there's a pig's head in my freezer but I think the dog will be getting that tbh lol. People could go b
  2. Okay so I put a post up on small holder group and have been messaged by a few offering meat boxes of local grass fed /beef/lamb etc I dare say a few will be out of price range but its easy enough....
  3. Yep been using a mates which isn't great at distance tbh and I find the pistol grip is a ball ache for getting it in a pocket. But for ease of use and something to have in my pocket on an evening walk it should fit the bill ? I know there's a lot of guys going back to the halogens and where it's practical I think they're better.
  4. I'm giving a fenix ht18 a go, to run alongside a thermal , if I'm honest I'm enjoying the thermal a lot. Seeing all kinds of wildlife , most recently a pair of partridge , so many bits and pieces you wouldn't know we're there.... https://youtu.be/IotFfhJ2rv8

  8. Yep, may have to join local smallholder groups , or similar. Randomly just saw a post about a guy walking Britain's coast for charity and he's been robbing people along the way. Random weird FB thing I noticed, now obviously the rest of the group are hunting him down lol.
  9. If you could sell a much smaller number direct to consumer on FB or alike , it might be more profitable? I think there is an increasing market for decent.meat as opposed to pumped full of water, few weeks old, pink and watery shite, Danish bacon or equivalent. The small holder groups I go on seem to be a good market place even if they can't put a direct add they can put a link to a page....

  11. Warm everything up before sticking it in hot metal, YouTube is probably worth a look too.

Bloody hell, let's hope some escaped that....
  13. Yep that's why I mentioned smallest wood burner you can't get , but I guess if you stuck 10k of TV hifi and furniture in there you might want it fully insured.
  14. Quite possibly, I hadn't thought about insurance ? I made my old man an odd shaped flue to fit through a slot in a barn , he made an insulated wall to turn a mezzanine into a room, it required the smallest of wood burners, two small logs and the room was toasty...
  15. There's KW formulas if you Google you need to measure rooms etc it's important as you don't want it running full bore as well as you don't want it just smouldering either. If it's private property and not rented think you can do as you please but worth getting chimney swept and maybe a smoke test.
  16. I'm late back into property and still not there yet ,.but dream of man caves and workshops, I openly envy and appreciate friend's man sheds, and most of mine have them, from luxurious tiki bars, to Welsh pubs and my favourite which is a barn with car ramps and oddities. Long live the escapes.....
  17. I thought about this yesterday, I was literally going up a lane near my house to a wood on the hill, the wife reminded me that neither kid is of age to be outside of a car seat, I had one booster and the other sat direct on rear seat. I questioned my decision and then thought feck it. Lol and then thought about risk and if there were 10 accidents how many involved drug and alcohol, how many were under 25 and over 70, how many were on a roads b roads etc. Anyway a random thought on risk, so if you're obese and therefore prone to inflammation in the body then COVID then doubles the amount of inf
  18. 84 not a bad innings....
  19. Well done on getting the kids out in the rain, sorry to hear about pup it's always a worry around me as they're always a run within a road when local. Mine have swimming later so I'm gonna head out with dogs, hopefully less gen pop about ?
  20. Social and economic are related it's very easy to find the negatives. Solutions not problems springs to mind. Some folk only want to spread negativity and hate, I just thought one positive topic out of hundreds might be okay lol. Mental health is a big issue atm and I feel we can all get caught up in the news and lunacy of it all, when there's actually lots of good stuff going on , but most folk it seems would rather fester in demoralising negativity....soon be Christmas...
  21. There is plenty of good Brexit news, we're just ignoring it INEWS.CO.UK It is difficult to believe something is good or going well when everyone around you tells you it’s not; when you...

  24. Doesn't look how I'd have imagined, nice looking dog, made me smile he looks happy and daft as a brush. glad you're pleased always nice to have a dog you get on with ?
  25. A story I was told by an old boy when I was a young kid was of an old woman on some sort of sorting line and if a rat came down the shoot she'd grab it and bite it's neck , who knows .... I've took them off the dog alive with gloves on that's as intimate as I'd care to get with a rat tbh...
