  1. Have you owned any, or seen any work; although I agree they can be stubborn, in the wrong hands. Cheers. iv seen a couple none with mutch guts, run all night or day tho. ,but what it justifies price wise is beyond me Same with anything, mate; supply and demand. I've had pure and hybrid, both of which had as much guts as any other running dog I've owned, maybe it was down to how they were entered. Cheers.

  3. I got a pair a year ago; Good points; Light, warm, comfortable. Bad points; no support, neoprene rips easily, soles went smooth far to quickly, rubber split across the toes. Conclusion; not worth the money, not sturdy enough for serious walking or hunting. Won't be getting anothe pair. Cheers.
  4. It's hennah, the same stuff Arabian and Asian women paint patterns on their hands with. Some of the Saluki owners think it toughens the skin. Cheers.
  5. you couldent give me one of them mangey dogs you fool Theres guy's out there doing stuff with dogs you could only dream about, and you come out with this shit ???
  6. Can't agree mate; my bitch pup, (1st x Deer/Grey), is 25 1/2", 53lb @ 21 weeks ! Cheers.
  7. I've said it many times........ no such thing as a bad dog; only bad owners !! If the dog can't be trusted....PTS !! Cheers.
  8. Tinned food is worse than useless for a working dog, and, (unless you are buying the cheapest tins available), you can get barf from the butchers for around the same cost as tinned food ! Get some lamb ribs, chicken carcases, etc into your dog and you'll see the difference; if not...take it to the vet for a check up. Cheers.
  9. Well you see, LDR has this cunning plan; he sends the smelly old bugger up her for the summer, where he pisses all over my kennels and garden, gets fed on the best, exercised well, then he gets him back and he beats me in the competition !! Two years in a row, so his plan must be working !! LOL !! Cheers.
  10. Do you REALLY think the anti's don't know EVERY Hunt in the country, their location and where they meet ?? The MFHA have no qualms about listing every hunt on their website ! Cheers.
  11. Get mine off a mate who's on the rigs; "Rhino" is the trade name. Leather outer, fleece inner, best gloves I've ever had ! Cheers.
  12. Cheers Paul, me and LDR aren't doing as much this season as we should be, but if you fancy a night out, give us a call ! Cheers.
  13. Useless !! Believe me; I bought the full length one at the last Waterloo Cup, and was given the short one; both useless. If the dog twists or the catch hits your leg or another dog or whatever it opens and the dog is off !! Also the spring weakens very quickly and it becomes a liability !! As others have said..... a collar and a piece of nylon, bailing twine, pull-thru cord, eyc, is far better and far cheaper !! Cheers.
  14. Give us a bit more information ! There's been pleanty of dogs with those names ! Where, when, what quarry, what breeding ?? Cheers.
  15. very true....but i hear there is talk of changing the law and as you say it will be to the detrement of all dogs and owners ,muzzled in public etc etc Plus compulsory microchipping, return of Dog Licensing, limit to the number of dogs owned, etc !!! Cheers.
  16. There is no way this represive government will ammend the Dangerous Dogs Act in the FAVOUR of responsible dog owners ! If they do anything, it will be to the DETREMENT of ALL dog owners. Just make sure no one votes Labour next year !! Cheers.
  17. Paid, it was absolutely still, not a breath of wind, and, there was a bit of snow in the air. Artic, the ground was very soft, lots of mud because of all the rain we've had up here, but it will harden up shortly, it's starting to get cold now. Cheers.
  18. LDR and myself ran our 3rd round heat tonight. Dogs & Natives was kind enough to host on his land and judge for us. There wasn't many rabbits about but we managed 9 runs each. Bruce missed his 1st slip, but took 7 from the next 8 slips; Delta was very slow out of the boxes and missed her 1st 3 slips, but found another gear and took 5 from the next 6 slips. Final score was 7 to LDR & Bruce. 5 to Chartpolski & Delta. Well done to Bruce and good luck in the Northern Final, and many thanks to Dogs & Natives for hosting and Judging. Cheers.
  19. Lets face it; fox hunting has not changed one iota !! All the hunts up here just carried on as normal ! The Beagles and Harriers have hunted as usual; the only dog sport to be affected is Hare Coursing. Cheers.
  20. IF the Tories repeal the Hunting Act, and there is no guarantee they will, it won't mean it will be open season for us to run hare, fox, deer, etc, with our lurchers. They are more likely to AMMEND the Act, and Fox Hunts will be licensed and monitored. Hare coursing, if it adressed at all, will also be limited to licensed clubs. I think individuals will still be banned from coursing hares. So I wouldn't pin my hopes on a complete reversal of the ban. Cheers.
  21. There are some tremendous non-ped Whippets around just now, and I'm supprised they aren't used more in Lurcher breeding. I still go to the local Whippet track on a saturday, and to see some of the scratch dogs doing times I would have thought impossible years ago is a great sight to watch. these dogs are heavily Greyhound blooded, but bred down to around 20-40 lb. surely crossed with a good lurcher they should produce decent offspring ? Cheers.
  22. I have a bitch from a genuine 1st x Heartbreak Fell Beddy/ Grey put to a Deer/Grey x Whippet/Grey. She has fell very much to the Beddy/Grey side, and has a good coat and has the Beddy "hardness"; a very good all round bitch; Cheers.
  23. Seen people fishing at St. Peters and the quayside and as far up as Lemington, so there must be a few fish about. Might give it a try. Cheers.
  24. Yes; just make sure you worm the dog regularly. Cheers.
