    The Hunting Ban wa a bone thrown to the Labour backbenchers by Blair, as a reward for letting him back the Americans in going to war, illeagaly, with Iraq !! It had nothing to do with hunting , foxes or country sports !! It was simply class warfare by Labour who think anyone who partakes in feild sports is a Tory; remember the Labour MP who said, after the ban, "Thats a black eye for the Tory Toffs" ?? I supported the Border & Coquetdale Coursing Club for years, and it was made up from farmers, pitmen and shipyard workers !! So much for the "Toffs" !! Anyone who votes Labour is voting for

    That pup looks fine to me !! I have a 12 week old pup, and I feed her whenever she wants to eat ! Raw chicken, rabbit, beef, milk, eggs, complete food, bone meal powder, etc. I like to see a pup eat, if they have a bit extra wheight on when they mature, it's better to trim them down, than try to build up an underwheight pup ! Cheers.

    The dog that won last years lamping comp, Bruce, is over 27", and his old kennel mate, Billy, was 29" but it didn't stop him being a good rabbit dog ! Cheers.

    Dan, theres a HUGE difference between a 3 month pup and a 6 or 7 month pup ! A 3 month pup has no co-ordination between it's legs and body, it should have just had it's final shots and only just be out of the yard. I've no problem with a 6 month pup coming along to see whats what, but to talk about a THREE MONTH OLD PUP coursing is stupid !! I'm convinced the lads who are saying this are just on a wind up !! LOL !! My latest pup is 3 month old, she can barely course her own tail !! Cheers.

    Heres a 1/4 GSD x 3/4 Grey; nice looking pup, but don't know how it did in the field; Heres a THREE MONTH, (12 week), old pup, who will certainly NOT be seeing a course until she's around THIRTEEN month, never mind THREE month !! Cheers.

    Your bang on with the weather statement BUT Nobody can PROMISE That there will be stuff to run at anytime of the year AN THATS A FACT!!!. . Nobody in the comp is complainin its everybody thats not in the comp doin the moanin use wernt to quick to put your £50 in but use are quick enough to write to your opinions on threads to have ago. . . Its the thl lamping comp. NOT LDR +chartpolski's and Im entitled to my opinion as anyone else is, now chartpolski has gone through 2 rounds so far, has as Paid without catching a great deal, conditions were against them, others have nt run once yet,

    Hi mate, as I've said previously, I would rather run 40 than 4 !, but what am I supposed to do; drive all the way home and go back another night, with perhaps the same outcome ? Just about everything from the weather to poachers conspired against us, but the 2 competitors and the judge agreed that it was a result, however poor it may have been. The comp would never get finished if we all waited for perfect condititions. What annoys me is negative comments coming from people who haven't entered the comp, running down people who have entered. Cheers.

    Tomo, the moon was almost FULL, no cloud, no wind, and there were lamps on the permission in front of us, and a Trasnsit van driving the fields and lamping, so hardly good condititions !! I had drove 140 mile and stayed over, so it wasn't a case of not trying !! You didn't enter this years comp because of family commitments, Bolt and myself had to run on this date because of OUR family commitments; he had just got back from NZ , and my family is off to Oz for 4 month next week, so this was the only date we could arrange. We enjoyed ourselves, so why should it worry anyone else ????? my

    Hi mate, me and LDR have already discussed next years comp, and theres a good chance it will be invite only and all comments, results, etc, will be kept to PM and not posted on open forum ! It would be a shame if it came to that, but there is just to many who want to drag the comp down. Cheers.

    I'd like to thank Barney, (The Bolt), for hosting this heat and for the food and drinks his wife put on for us before and after the heat; I'd also like to thank Paul, (farmer1) for taking my brother out on his permissin with his young dog on the same night; and a HUGE thanks to Paul, (Mally) for putting up me, my brother and 3 dogs, for 4 days, taking us duck shooting and lamping before and after my heat !!! To all the naysayers, this is what this comp is about !!! Meeting likeminded, top lads, and having fun !! Try entering next year, you may just like it !!!! Cheers.

    I had Reserve Campion at the Selkirk show a couple of years ago, also Reserve Champion at Hawick, both top shows !I've also judged the Neilston Show, some excellent working dogs !! So not all of us "south of the border" are doubters !! LOL !! Cheers.

    Mally and me were walking to a bit of local permission, and the heavens opened !! The rain was coming sideways in sheets, and the wind was bending the trees !! The only thing stopping me getting wetter was my skin !! We decided to carry on, and got 6 in one feild !! They were clapped tight !! I think if they are out when the rain starts, they stay out, JMHO. Cheers.
