Agree.I think the hassle these lads have had is bang out of ORDER.A lot of time and effort goes into the comp.Why sit in hindsight and say i could have done better.I just dont get it Let me just say, this is LDR's competition, he runs it and makes all the decisions ! I help in any way I can, as do other lads, getting trophies, using their land, etc. It's a shame some arseholes can't help but complain; especialy when they didn't even enter ! Anyone who has entered and has a complaint will be heard and their complaints taken on board...but for christs sake, give the lad some credit for or

Well, thats part of the problem; "you can only go on what you got told" !!! I;m a firm believer in "never believe what your told, and only half what you see" !! Actually I'm talking to someone on the 'phone at the minute, who I consider one of the best dog people in the country, and I think I'll take their advise, and just keep doing what i do, and ignore the idiots ! Nah mate, it's only one or two uneducated know alls who are crabbing !! I've met and had some great nights out with lads from ths comp, Mally, The Bolt, Farmer1, Lamp + Battery, Dogs + Natives, Single handed and his mate, Woodga, Dotty, and others. I've had people stay at my house, and I've stayed at their houses. There is a lot more goes on behind the scenes than is told on these sites !! Cheers.

LDR didn't "try" to do it; he did it ! Last years comp was run off and this years will be ! I'll help as much as I can until it's finished. Yes there has been problems, thats what happens when ordinary working guys try to run a nationwide competition on a friendly, relaxed basis. Poeple like yourself, with vast expeirience, should be helping, not crabbing ! All I can say, is the actual running in the comp and meeting some top lads has been great; far better than reading all the shit that has been posted by people who didn't have the bottle to enter in the first place ! As I say; good luck with it mate !! LDR didn't have the backing of all those "names" that you seem to have ! He only had a few lads like himself to try and give other lads what they wanted, a lamping competition ! He has had abusive phone calls and texts, as have I, and had to put up with all the crabbers and know alls, like yourself; no wonder he is pissed off with it !! Fill your boots,mate, I honestly hope you make a success of next years competition, but be prepared for all the naysayers , like yourself, who will find fault at any opportunity ! Cheers.

last years cubs, maybe. We were out the other night and there were pleanty foxes about; had a couple come running in, but another pair had other things on their minds, and took no notice of any squeaking we did !!!! We were out for rabbits, by the way ! Cheers.

It's a well known fact that Bull was added to whippets and Greyhounds many years ago. It is quite possible for a "throwback" to pop up now and again. I, like the others are only passing comment on a few pics you have posted, the dog may look completely different in the flesh. You shouldn't worry about the size, it's nothing out the ordinairy. Why ignore these people ????? Opinion was asked, and opinion was given ! No one has belittled the dog, on the contary, they have said it's a fine looking animal ! You get throwbacks and differences in ALL breeds of dog, no one is saying the owner was cheated, only he/she has mentioned being cheated. Cheers.

Nice looking dog. Outside the KC "desireable size", but not massive compared to some out there ! And actualy within the AKC breed standard. It appears to have a strong head in some of those pics, any possibility of a bit bull blood in there ? Cheers.

If you have to come on here asking advice about the wound, you deffinately should not attempt closing it yourself ! You could end up doing more harm than good, sealing in infection, etc. Only one option, mate, get it to a vet. If you haven't the money to pay, just brazen it out; have the treatment done, then tell the vet you didn't expect such a big bill, and ask them to arrange a payment plan; the dogs wellbeing comes first. Don't worry mate, next years comp will be perfect, and run off entirly in one night, with 1,000's of rabbits caught, under the guidance of Whin and D Slieght, you may have to go to New Mexico to run your heat though !!! LOL !!! Cheers.

Whin, just how would you make sure someone isn't lamping your ground in a 4 x 4 ??? This is the 2nd time I've had it happen, last time was when I ran "The Bolt" almost 200 mile from where we were last night ! Also, how would you arrange for neutral ground ? ANY ground seems hard to come by, and the guys DID agree on where they would run. It's very easy to sit in front of a PC and tell others how to run a competition !!!

Just got in, 03.15. Ldr phoned me this morning and asked me to judge the northern final between him and single handed. Met up at my house and SH had a pal with him to help with the driving. After a brew, we set off for LDR's 1st land... a total failure, not one slip, so off to the next place; a slip each and one nil to LDR, then we saw a vehicle driving the fields lamping exactly where we were heading !! So off to the next place !! Rabbits were few and far between, we saw more fox and roe than rabbits !!Anyhow, after seven slips each, LDR had five and SH had four, so Bruce goes thru' to the Na

i bet you dont tell the insurance company you work it in places where you are going to get injuries , out of interest ,what do they ask on the forms mate ,i have never seen one , They are registered with the insurers as "Lurchers", and the only restriction is "Racing". I had a claim in recently, and it was settled in less than 2 weeks, no questions whatsoever. Cheers.

You can get a dog insured for about £8 a month; well worth it if you work your dog. Cheers.

Who says you can't have a say, Dodger ?? ALL constructive ideas will be taken on board. It's only the idiots who want the comp to fail, who we won't listen to ! It's up to the organiser, LDR, to make and implement the rules; it's HIS competition, no one elses ! The "know alls" come out of the woodwork and tell him how to do it, yet they don't enter ! Cheers.

I hope NEITHER of your or Gaps admirable efforts will be adversly affected by this thread, and I hope the pup makes a full recovery and gets rehomed ,but I still feel the funds were being misdirected, in this case.
