A freind of mine in Oz had a "domesticated" Dingo. It was very freindly and lived in the house and was well house trained. It got on well with the other dog, a Skye Terrier; but you could not let it of the lead, if you did it had to be cornered and got agressive when caught. It had the run of a big paddock but would dig under the fence and escape if not watched constantly! A few Ozzies have tried domesticating them and breeding them, but with little success. Cheers.

If you know his address and feel so bad about it mate, go for it !! Take the goods back and get your dosh back ! All I'm trying to say is, trust no one who is selling things on the 'net, if you don't know them or they don't have a good reputation ! People have been scammed for a hell of a lot more than 30 quid ! Cheers.

I don't send money to ANYONE I'm not sure of...... and if I did and got ripped off, I wouldn't come on here bleating about it. It's a chance you take; buying unseen goods off people you don't know. Cheers.

CAVEAT EMPTOR !!! The way I see it, there are three ways of buying gear; face to face; off reputable guys; or take a chance, (as you did), and when you get ripped off, just say fcuk it, it was only 30 quid ! Cheers.

Davey, yesterday Delta, my little Lurcher bitch, put two foxes up out of some bracken; one ran right in front of me. I had Lima, the sister to your dog, on the lead, she went wild, spinning around to be after the fox, but there is absolutely no way she will be slipped until next season. Just because they are big strong pups dosen't mean they have stopped growing ! It's asking for trouble, starting dogs of this type to soon. Cheers.

Looking good Davey, but aren't they 25 weeks today? Bill told me they were born on the 11th July. My bitch is now 26 1/2 " and 55 lb. Cheers.

Kelly, Greyhounds are bred to win money, so well bred pups from proven winners command big prices, as do proven stud dogs, (much the same as coursing dogs before the ban). But Lurchers are bred for sport, not money,(or at least they should be !!). So, if you have a top stud Greyhound, I can see where you are coming from. Cheers.
-
Kelly, you do understand we are talking about LURCHERS here, don't you ? Not some over priced, over hyped Pedigree! When I was thinking of mating one of my bitches, I was offered the services of open class Greyhounds, Rch Non Ped Whippets and some of the best working Lurchers I've seen; all for free ! Why ? because the owners were mates, and could, of course have had a pup if they wanted one. The pups would have been kept, given to mates or culled. There is to much money making and puppy peddling going on now, to the detriment of Lurchers. Cheers.

look carefully you know what this is !! let them guess!!!! LOL ! I don't think it's a Chartpolski or a Hortzoi ! If it is; it isn't like any I've seen ! Cheers.

I've seen dogs like that from Africa right across the Middle East , Central Asia to India, so I wouldn't hazzard a guess as to what breed. Cheers.
-
which one though? I've seen both, and sometimes they look very much alike, depending where they were bred; but for the sake of a guess, I'd say Rampur Hound. Cheers. caravan hound WHERE ARE THEY FROM.. Rampurs and Caravan hounds are from India. Cheers.

Probably shouldn't be mentioning peoples names on an open forum. Cheers.

I'd of said the opposite; rough coat is long, broken coat is close and wiry. Cheers.

This is a good topic and shouldn't drift off into the rights or wrongs of "line breeding" or "in breeding". In response to the origional question; I have one of each; a Lurcher, (Beddy/Grey x Deer/Grey-Whipppet/Grey), 4 1/2 y.o. And a Longdog, (DeerxGrey), 6 month old. They will both be used for the same jobs, though I expect each to be better than the other at certain aspects of the job! I can't say which is better, Lurcher or Longdog, it depends on what you need them for, hopefully with one of each, the job will be sorted ! Cheers.

A saluki/grey is a lurcher.. the majority of lurchers have longdog in them, thats what forms a lurcher.... You bring a saluki to run hares around this area (preban of course) and a good hare lurcher would beast it... A Saluki x Greyhound is a "Longdog"; any sighthound x sighthound is a "Longdog", although they are commonly refered to as "Lurchers". Cheers. lol, that is what i said, just differently... lurchers are made by longdogs or sighthounds... You say "The majority of Lurchers have Longdog in them"......How can a dog be a Lurcher if it hasn't got Lo

A near disaster yesterday whilst walking the dogs.
chartpolski replied to mally's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Mally 'phoned me today, and told me about the incident; if there's one bloke I know who would do ANYTHING for his dogs, it's Mally !!! Cheers. -
Mate, it's WRONG that you've been cheated, and it's RIGHT that you warn the rest of us about this guy, but you shouldn't blame the site or the mods, they can't stop it. Remember the saying, "caveat emptor" ! Hope you get it sorted. Cheers.
-
There ARE genuine people selling things on here, I've had stuff myself, but if you send money to a complete stranger, be prepared to be disapointed ! The Mods can do nothing; banning the scum makes no difference, as they just join again with another name. Cheers.
-
Simple solution; only buy things face to face ! No goods = No money ! Why buy DVD's off here, when you get them from any show, probably cheaper ! Cheers.

Northern Area is down to a final, LDR v Single Handed. I don't know where the Southern Area is up to; maybe Paid can tell you. Cheers.
