  1. Iam sure Ive seen that guy in the sweeney on uk gold I'm older, fatter and baldier, but I'll be down yours and give you a slapping if you keep up this cheek, young Ox !! Cheers.
  2. Robbie, the shoot we were on said we could slip on anything we wanted to, as long as it was between beats; and we should NEVER interfere with the guns ! This is right, as they are paying !! To me, it was another feild sport I could get invoved in, and also take the lurchers along and do a job. It also, if not got us pemission, at least had the keepers not stopping us running things, as long as we respected the pens and birds ! Cheers.
  3. Generaly I found the folk with money liked to watch the lurchers work, but the pretenders that did'nt, and just wished they had money were the ones that grumbled That little bitch won't retrieve a rabbit to hand when lamping, so for her to bring a bird to within a couple of feet when shooting; she'll do for me !! Cheers.
  4. Some of the guns prefered to see the Lurchers pick up "runners", simply because it was something different; this wasn't a "posh" shoot ! LOL ! I remember Delta retreiving a cock bird from a flooded dyke, when all the Spaniels and labs had missed it; didn't stop one wanker from saying, "well, she didn't put it right into your hand !!! Cheers.
  5. Me and LDR used to regularly take Bruce and Delta to beat at a pheasant shoot. They were fine with the birds; but there where one or two embarassing moments when a roe was flushed !! Cheers.
  6. A whippet of mine from the 60's; A Saluki X of mine from the early 70's; And a pure Saluki of mine from the 's; Cheers.
  7. I made a list of places in the world I wanted to see, and two were in Texas; the Alamo, and Dealy Plaza where Kennedy got shot. Luckily, I had friends in San An, and I worked for an airline, so could fly for free. To fit in a bit of hunting was the icing on the cake !! Saw a few armadillos', weird creatures ! Cheers.
  8. Been all over the 'States, mate, but the only hunting I've done was around San Antonio, Texas. Got a good mate in Reno, Nevada, but he is more into bikes than dogs ! LOL ! Cheers.
  9. Whin, you've got me confused here, mate; the Sonoran desert isn't in New Mexico, and the gerbil/gerboa isn't native to the Americas, it's from Africa and the Middle East ??? Cheers.
  10. Whin, Unfit; there are two different scenarios here ! Taking a 12 week pup for a walk with the older dogs to let it experience the sights, sounds and smells, is completely different to the madmen who talk about "COURSING WITH 12 WEEK OLD PUPS " !! My own pup comes out 3-4 times a day for a walk with the older dogs; but would I let it "course" or chase a rabbit ??? Would I hell !! Cheers.
  11. only to people like your self that has never tried or seen it . ,a lot has seen that it does happen and how good the results are ,that is all i can say ,and a lot of the witnesses are on this site ,and take it from me ,they are doing it them selves with there pups .like i keep saying the pups are taken out with older dogs and just left to do what they want ,.its as simple as that . Makes sence if you really think about it lads dont dout it untill you try it, i got a pup to try this way now, use your head lads it makes a great deal of sence "Coursing" with a 12 week old pup "ma
  12. Can he realy be worse than the cvnt whe have in now ????? All comments welcome !! LOL !! Cheers.
  13. The dog needs no introduction; the bitch looks a cracker, hows she bred ???? Cheers. Heres a slightly better pic, (got rid of the washing !! LOL !!). Cheers.
  14. The old dogs are in the past; but I've heard about a good'un down Rotherham way, a sappling called Charlie !! Seems he is going to make the grade ! Cheers.
  15. now whats the cheek all about just asking what is the point off running something if your not going get off the sofa and get out???????????/ The lads, (and lasses), who are in the competition DO get off the sofa and get out ! Don't think we only run our dogs in the competition; a LOT more is done, that isn't talked about on hunting forums !! Cheers.
  16. we have a comedian I do Dont think it effects them, wolves ect dont stop running (hunting), be cause there in season. Won't knock you for it mate !! My bitch is a yearly bitch, and she works hard all year, so a rest during her season isn't a problem to me ! Cheers.
  17. Doe's nobody say a bitch has "broken down" when it comes into season, anymore ???? Must be showing my age !! LOL !! Cheers.
  18. Two months ago, according to some of the "experts" on here !!! LOL !!! Seriously, I have a 3 month old pup, and I'll be starting her next season, when she's 10 - 12 month old. Starting them to early causes all sorts of problems, both physically and mentaly. Cheers.
  19. wow no replies must of said something wrong! No one can predict the colour of lurcher pups, there will PROBABLY be brindles, but expect othe colours as well !! As far as dog or bitch, that is an entirely pesonal choice; I've owned both and have no preference, even though I have three bitches at the moment, I had a dog kenneled here during the summer. Good luck with whatever you choose ! Cheers.
  20. Go for it mate !! All the best !! Cheers.
  21. Forgot to add, I also used to follow the Newcastle Beagles; should THEY not be allowed to hunt hares ???? Cheers.
  22. Ran them day time, and believe me, there is nothing better !!!! Also lamped them , and yes, I've also shot them !! I'm sure the people who are condeming other peoples sport have never actualy hunted a hare, by ANY method !! Cheers.
  23. Blair didn't even vote on the Hunting Ban;he absented himself from the vote, and allowed a "free vote", obviously, as Labour had such a massive majority in Parliament, it was passed !! But that b*****d Blair left himself free to tell his rich mates "well, I didn't vote for it " !!!!! But never mind; it looks as though he will be our (unelected) President of Europe !!!! Cheers.
  24. Tomo, to me, a mans vote is sacrosanct !! I was allways an "OLD" Labour voter, but cannot bring myself to vote for these "New Labour" b*****ds who have usurped the Labour Movement !! As someone who went through the miners strike, I would rather stick pins in my eyes than vote Tory !! So now I vote strategicaly, if the Liberals will keep the Torys and Labour out of my Council, I'll vote for them, even though they have no chance of forming a Government. "New" Labour is finished, a bunch of theiving c**ts led by a mad man, but who will replace them ?????? Cheers.
