    I've had two of them, non-peds, back in the 70's.... one sired by Red Baron, the other sired by R.ch Haymaker. The first was a flyer, won matches and scratch races....the other ran like a crab !! Cheers.

    When I was at the last Waterloo Cup, I asked for,and got, two programme cards each day. One I marked up, the other I kept in mint condition. I also have the booklet , "The Waterloo Cup 2005", and the "Fullerton Story". I may be tempted to put them up for sale on the 10th anniversary of the final Cup. There's a definate profit in them, as they cost nowt !! LOL !! Cheers.

    I tend to agree with Cocker and a few of the others. It sounds like you've sickened him. You said at the start, he'd just come back from injury, and you've never worked him so hard. Maybe you should have brought him back a bit slower and easier, he may have an injury caused by running him when not fit, that you haven't spotted ? Hope all works out well for him. Cheers.

    Same way people conclude that they won't, it's an assumption, they might, they might not, 50/50 it's a gamble you take same as with any pup you take on with the intention of working it. Not realy !! Most people who get pups have a good idea how they are bred. Nobody seems to have a clue how these pups are bred, so how have they a 50/50 chance ? The breeder himself won't even say how they are bred, and he's been reading the thread !! They could be from a pair of street curs !! Cheers.

    How do people come to the conclusion that these pups will be good "bushing dogs" or good "ferreting dogs" ????? The only thing that is probably certain, is that they are bred from shite, and should have been culled ! Cheers.

The Overseas Stag is a running, coursing type Cheers. cheers chart just like the look of it in ya pick is ther any suluki in it with the looks of its ears I don't think so; the working Saluki isn't that popular in Oz, I can't understand, when they have land like this to run; Cheers. so basicly they are ther version of our lurchers Yes mate, just bred bigger and stronger for the job they do. We don't have coyotes or kangaroos here!! L

    Many years ago, the local gypsies used to call any big, rough coated Greyhoundy type, a "Staghound" And when I was in Ireland last year, the Irish Travellers were calling my dogs "Stags". But the name has never caught on here in the UK, possibly because of the Staghound Packs ? We just call them Lurchers. Cheers.

    what about the "staghound" in Oz and the US? They are usualy line bred from Deerhounds/Greyhounds/Borzois, e5c. Cheers.

    A "Staghound" in the UK is a large type of foxhound, used for hunting Red Deer, in packs. A Deerhound is a purebred sight hound. Cheers.

    Anyone who thinks they know it all and don't read books; is a fool !! Apart from being informative and interesting, books can also just be enjoyable and relaxing !! I have some classic dog/hunting books; and when the telly is shite, (as it often is !! LOL !!) , I'll pick up a book and have a bit read ! Some books can be read over and over again, and even Plummers books are a great read, if you don't take everything he says as Gospel !! Cheers.
