    As far as I'm aware, there is no cure or prevention for kennel cough. A retired vet told me that. She said the only cure is rest and time. Most vets will take your money and give youre dog shots and tablets,but it still takes time to get over. As Swagboy said, you can give kids cough medicene to relieve the syptoms, but it won't cure it. Cheers.

Well, as I've been on a hare shoot, (Shock, Horror !!), lamped foxes of the back of a 'keepers truck with a rifle, been on formal pheasant and partridge shoots, as well as my other nefarious countryside activities, I doubt I could be accused of double standards.     I think Lab was saying it COSTS the shoot £3-4 per LIVE poult. A game deasler will only PAY about 25p per bird, but SELL them for about £6 Cheers.

    £6.95, oven ready, at the Game Dealers in Newcastle. The last time I was beating, the Dealer was only paying 25 p each for them, so the shoot owner let us take as many as we wanted, as it wasn't worth him transporting them to town. Cheers.

    I'm actualy in a very good mood today, it's my 35th wedding anniversary, and I've had a great day out with my wife! So sorry if I come across as a grumpy old twat, it isn't meant...I just hate to see people, especialy young'uns, being ripped off in this game ! Cheers.

    I'm sorry if you think my advice to the lad was wrong ; but I'll bet if he or his brother go for another pup, they will do with their eyes a bit more open ! The young are the future of the game, and If I seem harsh; it's just because I want to see them learn, and not be ripped off ! If this pup turns out to be a wrong'un, because the lad has been ripped off, he might give up on the game...and that's something I don't want !! Cheers.

    I'm intreaged by this ! Why would you want a collie x and then say you want as little collie as possible in it ? There are people who breed and run dogs in Lurcher racing, that are 31/32 Greyhound and 1/32 Collie, just to salve their own conscience and kid themselves that they have "Lurchers" and not "pure Greyhounds" ! Do you want this Greyhound, with a wee bit of Collie in it, for a specific purpose ? Cheers.

You, or your brother, have bought a pup, without knowing the breeding, without seeing the parents, and have come on here asking if we know what breed it is !!!!!!! Why not 'phone the breeder and ask EXACTLY what it is ??? I'm not trying to knock you or your brother,but if you take a bit of advise and do a bit homework before you buy another pup, you won't have to come on here and ask what cross it is !!     So he just took the sellers word for it, and took the pup anyway ?? The pup was only 8 weeks old, it should have still been with the bitch ! Were alarm bells not ringing when he couldn't see the bitch ? It doesn't matter how far it was, if it wasn't right, he should have walked away! He'll either have the dog for life, and maybe not be happy, or pass it on, or put it to sleep ! Either option could have been avoided with a little thought. You and your brother have got a lot to learn in the dog game, mate ! You seem like a peddlers dream ! Cheers.

    Evidently back in the early 1900's,late 1800's, when "rabbit coursing" with Whippets was immensly popular, and "courses" were "best of 32", putting Bull into Whippets was very popular, and even now, the odd "Bull type" is thrown in Non-Ped Whippet litters.. Had one or two myself ! Cheers.

    the other thing chart is when they put it how you put it I would take it as either a bull to a beddy/grey or a bull/beddy to a grey when they actually mean bull/grey x beddy/grey. Even if this is what was meant; would you expect it to take hares with any regularity ?? Of course, we will now get all the replies "mine does" !! I run hares on an almost daily basis, and I know they can make fools of even the best of dogs !! Yes hares have been taken by JR's, Collies, etc, but to take good winter hares takes a special kind of dog ! Cheers.

    I was thinking the same; if it's 4/5 month old and only 12/13"... then it's a terrier, not a Lurcher ! I'd expect it to be a hell of a lot taller!! I hope your brother hasn/t been tucked up !! Cheers.

    Well, I'd say it certainly isn't half X bull/grey ! Why did your brother get a pup that he hasn't a clue about the breeding; or even seen either of the parents ? You obviously sound like a young lad, maybe you and your brother should have sought some advice, before getting into Lurchers ? I really hope it works out for the both of you, but I do worry about the future of the game when young lads are getting pups they know nothing about ! Cheers.
