    I think mC is teasing a bit ! ? ! I agree that the modern day saluki hybrid is the king of hare dogs, daytime on open land. But we had no hare killers before then ??? I had my first saluki cross in the early 70's here in the UK, and they were rare up here. The preponderance of hare and roe dogs were deer crosses, and believe me, they could take hares anywhere, any time. They went out of fashion when the bull x's and Saluki hybrids came along, but they did a grand job up to then. If I was only into daytime hare coursing, then of course I'd have Saluki hybrids, they are the

    A nice pair from some time ago ; No relation, one is deer/grey/collie; the other is Beddy/grey/whippet/deer. One from Ashington, one from Cramlington, both places had lots of deerhound types years ago. Cheers.

    I'm 69 mate, I've hunted with running dogs all over the world. The quarry, land and intensity have changed dramatically over the years, so some dogs impressed on some things, others on other things, it's impossible for me to choose the "best". My relation with dogs has changed over the years, now, they are with me for life. You sound like a good keen man, keep it up and enjoy it, it's getting harder for us ! ? Cheers.

    I don't like them any more than other crosses and pures. Ive had more Saluki, pure and cross, and whippets, than deer hound types. I like Beddy crosses aswell. I just like a dog where the breeding takes my eye, and will it do for the quarry and land I'm more likely to encounter ? Cheers.

    The sire works, the dam was brought over from Ireland. She's sired by Mafi Majik and has done a bit of coursing herself. Cheers.

    Deer/grey bitch pups, two weeks old; Very even, so I'll wait a few weeks before choosing one. This one has a slightly bigger head, but they'll change over the weeks. Cheers.

    In recent polls, around 80% of the public said aid should be cut. Boris wants to cut aid from 0.7 of GDP to 0.5, about four billion pounds. At least 30 Tory MP's are going to join Labour and vote against any cut, in fact Labour actually want to INCREASE overseas aid ! Any MP who votes against the cuts should have 25% of their salaries deducted and given to British charities !!!! See which way they vote then ! Cheers.

    There's still a lot of hunting going on here, and it's discussed on private forums and groups. Open forums aren't the place ,sadly, for those discussions anymore, to easily accessed buy the do gooders, not to mention the snides and anti's who lurk about on open forums ! Cheers.
