  1. I had a few " big gangly plodders", back in their country of origin; So if anyone slags me for having big gangly plodders here, well, I'm not going to get to upset ?? Cheers.
  2. It's just a post about my latest pup......it may meander , ( mC knows what that means, he googled it ?). Lets not turn it into a slagging match ? Cheers.
  3. I quite like your quirky banter, but please don't make a c**t of yourself ? Cheers.
  4. I'll allways regret not breeding from that bitch, but she worked every season until she was ten. Thinking about it now, I should have put her to Northernlites Bruce, a 3/8 5/8 Beddy grey, or perhaps a non-ped Whippet grey. To late now, she's past 12 and lies about the yard and has a walk out every day with the other dogs, and I pray she doesn't see anything to run ! Cheers.
  5. I'm never sure if it was Johns or Rupert wife or mother that I used to see and talk to at shows. She allways had an old deerhound cross with her. Didnt they run them in comps around Selby and Drax ? Cheers.
  6. One thing I'll say about Deer/Greys; they throw true to type Cheers.
  7. This one is 16 years old and on it's third dog and as good as new. Just scrub it in hot soapy water now and again. Cheers.
  8. The Mini Manchester Terrier I had would bark at his food for ten minutes every time it was put in front of him before eating it ! The barking got worse as he got older, then he barked non-stop from three in the morning until nine, and I mean non-stop, monotonous barking. He took " the one way walk" very shortly afterwards....... Cheers.
  9. Reeding all this, I must be really lucky ! I've got two deerhound crosses and a chihuahua, (yes, honestly, a chihuahua !), in my kennels, and can't fault them. No shitting or pissing in the runs, but they're hardly in them if I'm honest. The pups partial to digging holes in the raised beds at the Allotments, but I'll soon beat that out of the little f****r. Apart from that, no complaints. Cheers.
  10. Or, to paraphrase Tommy Trinder; " Over here, over priced and over rated ! " ? Cheers.
  11. I guess we could say in a Venn Diagram we could have Salukis in the middle, and they run in the slop here and on the sand in a lot of Middle East countries we have bombed ! ? A bit tenuous....... Cheers.
  12. I never said we would use conventional forces to defend our country from a conventional attacker. We use conventional forces, including drones, to take out potential terrorist attacks, and sadly, to try and impose regime change. How many terrorist attacks on us do you think have been foiled by drone or covert ops ? I haven't a clue, but I'm sure there has been many. We obviously don't agree on defence of the realm, so there's no point going round in circles. I respect and appreciate everyone's opinion, and my opinions are just that, MINE, doesn't make them right, just what
  13. A governments first priority is, and should be, the defence of the country and its people. Without a credible defence and deterrent , everything else is at risk. If the government was to say, for instance, "we will stop giving overseas aid to Pakistan, India and China, and spend the money on defence, education, and the NHS", they would have my vote. £800 million on drones for defence pales into insignificance compared to money wasted on aid, the Lords, etc. I guess it's just what your priorities are . Cheers.
  14. Reapers are a lot cheaper than an f35, and there's no chance of losing an extremely well trained pilot. Apart from that, terrorist targets shit themselves when their house or car may be targeted and they don't know when hel(fire) is going to be unleashed from beyond the horizon. A very effective weapons platform. Cheers.
  15. I'm afraid the classics are becoming more and more irrelevant. They will teach the formulae, but no mention of Euclid, Pythagoras, Archemidies. Only old autodidacts like myself and Astanley still refer to the classics in everyday conversation ! ? ! Cheers.
  16. Yeah. One would come up to NCL once a week and spend a day going around in circles getting the local pilot his hours in . Cheers.
  17. Remember Freddy the Frog video ? ??? ! Cheers.
  18. That would more than likely be pilot recurrent training. Pilots have to log so many hours a month to keep their licence. Cheers.
  19. I wouldn't worry to much about police fixed wing aircraft when out poaching. Theyve become somewhat of an embarrassment, and may be given to the Coastguard . They are not as effective as rotary wing helicopters, not as manoeuvrable, need specialised runways, slower to get in the air, can't "loiter", and are, generally, more expensive to operate. Seems they were a bit of a vanity project, costing millions, but, of course, no one will be held responsible ! Cheers.
  20. I've had pure pit; Pure saluki; and most things inbetween, so it matters not a jot to me mate, I was just being mischievous! ? ! Cheers.
