Wilf, you seem to be completely missing the point ! Im sure most people sympathise and agree with the aims of the protesters, but not with their method of protest. Id have far more sympathy and even respect for them if they ran in front of government cars, glued themselves to the Prime Ministers plane, chained them selves to Downing Street gates, etc. As it is, I reserve my sympathy for the woman who is still in hospital following the pile up, and the old woman who is paralysed because her son couldn't get her to hospital in time because of the protest. I'm not a mind reader Wilf ? The government DOES have schemes to insulate homes, as well as install more efficient boilers, thermostatic radiator valves, etc. People get financial help, and if you are on benefits, it's free ! Cheers.

They are using a new tactic this morning; running in front of moving traffic on the M25 to make them brake. This looks, to me, like a deliberate attempt to cause accidents. Now, I don't mind if a few of them get flattened, but what about the drivers that may hit them ? It could ruin their lives, but hey, what does that matter to these lunatics, as long as they get the attention they crave....... Cheers.

You support them, I don't, I can understand and accept that ? I started the post, and I think my stance is clear, so further comment from me would just be going round in circles. Irrelevant. I've allready said I believe in protest, and have some sympathy with their cause. What I disagree with is them targeting the wrong people. Again, as I've already said, why don't they target the people they are pissed off at, the politicians ? Chain themselves to the gates of #10, glue themselves to the ministerial cars. When I was taking my two kids for their daily chemotherapy, if those c**ts had blocked my way on the pretence my house needed insulating, I would have,without doubt or hesitation drove over or through them ! To some it may just be an inconvenience, to others, it may be life or death. Cheers.

Exactly right mate ! I was there from '78 to 'O4. It was Aramco compound in Dammam where they gave the booklet "Blue Flame" to employees who wanted to make "sidiqui", 100 proof alcohol. They gave them the instruction book because a still blew up and burnt down a house, so instead of trying to ban it, they thought it would be safer to instruct them how to do it ! ? ! We had a "tame" shopkeeper and used to get 100 kg of sugar at a go. Sid & 7 UP was the usual drink, though I preferred Sid & Orange Tang, " The drink that went to the moon" ? Halcyon days !

That's mighty fancy ? We used much simpler gear to make illicit moonshine in the Middle East; A pressure cooker with a coiled copper pipe run in front of an A/C, and into a five gallon jerry can, stood on a black heater plate. Run the mash at least three times and it was as pure as you could get Cheers.
