  1. I ain,t telling porkies here i served 6yrs in the Royal Navy,2years on the trawlers at North Shields & i was regularly sick  .If your marlin fishing you,ll be trolling which should,nt be to bad.You can take the tablets but these can make you drowsy & drinking alcohol wont help. A good nights sleep,no spicy/greasy food, keep yourself occupied on the boat, wear sunglasses, hat & keep yourself hydrated.Keep away from the boats exhausts & dont let your mates know that you may be sick as they may do things to make you spew
  2. Good choice FV you,ll really enjoy using the 410c it,s a cracking gun.Not sure about the calibre tho... just kidding
  3. The big cat story well me ferreting & lamping partner has warned me of such a beast on our shoot...in the summer months he camps out up there while i prefer me creature comforts. The tale he told me of the big cat chasing him across a field whilst lamping by himself with airgun.I meself in the 5yrs of shooting at all godforsaken hours on our land i,ve never encountered anything apart from sheep, cattle & aggresive geese!!He,s a sound lad but it may be a case of too much :drag: however i may encounter the beast 1 day
  4. Would,nt mind seeing a few photos of your poley x, WRF.What,s the story behind aquiring the beasty.....
  5. I carry my batteries around in a backpack which i can also put rabbit(s) in on the way round. If your Logun lamp has a variable brightness, adjust so it gives you enough light to shoot clearly at your zero range,if you have coloured filters give them a go, for me the red one seems to meet some rabbits approvel if they are lampshy.Keep downwind of them & the usual noise/smoking/talking discipline.I also have a small Petzl LED headlamp which i use for reloading, climbing over fences, etc i coloured the lense on it red with a permanent marker.I also wear shooting gloves & headnet to keep me
  6. My land is a sheep farm & we find a least 2 dead sheep every summer. We always notify the landowner, however we do see the odd skull around but he removes dead sheep asap on the quad so the foxes don,t get comfortable with a free meal...
  7. Thanks for that link Spade excellent photos...did man land on the moon tho

I,ve grabbed the wrong end of the stick Maty j  i don,t know about these laser jammer things i thought you where on about the radar detectors I have,nt a clue about the law regarding these. No doubt it would probalies go against the motorist as speed traps are for road safety not for generating income from the already heavily taxed motoring public

I don,t think there illegal as i,m sure they would,nt be available to the general public in the high street.I drive for a living & i dont own one but i,ve seen plenty of vehicles with them.Using a mobile is illegal but 1000,s of people still do whilst driving. If you intend to use it as a early warning system whilst driving to the speed limits i can,t see the plod stopping you however if it,s to aid you excessivelly speeding i think the plod might take a dim view of the detector if you get your collar felt
  10. Good shooting there I take it you,ve shot a racing pigeon  i take it you couldnt see the ring on its leg.I have shot 1 or 2 in night time shoots in old mills, bridges & mistakes do happen.I personally would,nt take the ring to the local pigeon men as it may end up :vava: .Some of these racers are worth a few £££ & even a geniune mistake may not be seen that way.....
  11. On my land i ferret oct-feb,march-mid april i have to have a break due to the lambing on the land as the landowner is busy with them.Rest of the year is taken up with the gun, early morning shooting & lamping, weather permitting of course... If a landowner asked me to carry out pest control all year round it,s no problemo
  12. He may be telling the truth or just wants you to leave them for him on my ferreting ground which is mainly quarries i have seen rabbits run into what seem like shallow, straight forward sets in the quarry walls but when i,ve had a look at them & just get the nagging doubt "will i see my fert again" i don,t bother. My outlook is "if in doubt leave the fert out".
  13. Had 2 HW35,s in both calibres. They are a good, solid gun as are all HW,s.Both of mine were just standard sprung guns & both took normal airgun quarry at realistic ranges. You can get the export model with a nicer stock & a longer barrel for a few extra quid.Lots of people own the HW95 might be worth a look at as well
  14. Mananged 25.597 secs i,ll try it again after a couple of tonite.....just did 28.68....
  15. Oh yes,i,ll have the two with the pink noses

  18. Oh Man ,The Relum Tornado was the posh one I could,nt afford!About twelve pounds I think.Actually the Relums were notoriously easy to tune a bit.Very accurate compared with the BSA's of the day. Now I know that the picture below shows the Relum with a telescopic sight aboard -a cheap "Mountie " -but it's in keeping with the spirit of the subject matter I think.I could take you to the exact spot where I shot that bunny even now. I was my first . Quality photo Comanche im only 34 meself but its bringing a smile to my face thinking about the teenage years, shooting in places you cant even
  19. Hey LL you & me got the same prison name!!Still one of the better ones tho............ :11:
  20. As a teenager i had a mate who owned a Relum Tornado(i think??) well it was a underlever anyway.I had my trusty HW35 & he was forever "tuning" his Relum basically pouring loads of 3 in 1 oil into the cylinder to keep the leather washer in good order & when blue smoke was coming out of the barrel end he used to say"thats more powerful than my 35!!"Oh the joys of dieselling :11:
  21. I currently own AAs410c .22 & i can,t fault it.I have also owned a R7 Tyrolean .22 in the mid 90,s fantastic gun, superb build quality, excellent shot per charge & matchstick snapping accuracy.I had a play around with the HW100 for me the weight & angular stock just did,nt suit me but each person has to find what suits them.As previously quoted there all fine guns just go with what feels right for YOU
  22. Nice one Speedlamper my prison name is QUEENIE The missus new name is THE RECEPTICLE & me best mate is now BOWEL BOY!!!!
