  1. Have,nt got Sky but seen the trailers looks proper hardcore as it should be shown to the british public to see what the lads have to put up with.I was Royal Navy in the 90,s & i was taking home that sort of money i know the goverment have give them a tax break & a bonus type payment?? but with a Labour goverment the Armed Forces will never be better off IMO.Back to back tours, little time for family & friends ,no wonder they can,t get anybody to stay in or join up.Don,t get me started on National Service
  2. I owned the (.22) in the mid 90,s what can i say as with all HWs good ,solid construction & probalies the best trigger unit ever built??It is still marketed as "THE POWERHOUSE".I kept it with the standard spring & took the usual quarry no problem at normal airgun ranges. As with all HW,s weight is the issue i had a cobra sling fitted on mine to take the stress off my puny arms & the scope i had fitted sat on a 1 piece mount with arrestor block so the gun may have been nudging the 9.5lb mark if not a bit more.I have also owned 2 HW35,s 1 of each calibre again could,nt fault them, a

  6. Got a invite off Netman to have a dodge up to his grounds today When we arrived seen a few rabbits run to ground got to the burrows down next to the beck which we netted up while Netman ran the longnets out.I took my 2 poleys & Netman had his 2 albino jills which we entered at different parts of the warren. We ended up with 11 from there & bolted several baby rabbits which we managed to release elsewhere for another day. We then moved across to the field in the Landy & chased at least 15 plus rabbits into the hedge/fence burrows, the longnets put out & a set down in th

  10. Dont strap the gun down if its a springer it needs to recoil naturally. If you are using a scope make sure you use good quality mounts for starters, make sure your eye relief is correct 2-3 inches normally, get the scope into focus, good sharp crosshairs, use a plumb line to centrelise the scope then tighten up the mounts hand tight as you dont want to crush the scope body.Try to use a bench with a beanbag or any steady platform to shoot from pace out roughly or measure out your zero range place a target then see where the pellets land, adjust the scope windage & elevation dials as necessary til
  11. Hi Ben,if you can,t shoot your quarry humanley why take the shot???To bring the power "up a bit" i would,nt recommend it unless you have a FAC as it could get you into all sorts of problems if you get your collar felt off the police .As for shooting pheasents with a airgun Deker has put up a topic on here WHAT CAN I SHOOT WITH A AIRGUN might be worth a look at

  13. Another fine day today so i decided to make the most of it got meself & the poleys up to Dryburnside. On the way to the land there was a few rabbits up on the ajacent fields but we aint got permission anyway got to our land seen a couple run off into the dry stone walls.I was by meself again!! so i netted up the burrows i one swoop went back to the first set fert in,1 out after 10 mins I moved to the bottom of the field put 2 ferts in the sets as it is quite spaced out holes nothing for a while then 1 bolted just before i got to it the rolled the net, fair game i suppose .I then moved to

  17. You can keep the preggers jills with the group for a while however i used to move mine to seperate cages about 10 days before they were due. When the kits are born keep the distrubance down to a miniumun after a couple of weeks the jill will be settled enough for you to have a peek. However some jills i bred from were not really bothered about me having a early peek at the kits it just depends on the jills temperment....
  18. Managed to get some decent weather up here at last!!Went to the bottom quarry never touched it for at least 6 weeks so fingers crossed for some action .Got down to my "dead cert burrows" 7 holer & 13 holer netted them up gave it 20 mins, nobody at home in the 7 holer however got 1 out of the 13 holer .Moved further up the quarry did a 2 holer which ive had very little out of,netted up gave it 10 mins, fert in 1 straight out as i was re netting a rabbit appeared at the hole i made a grab for it back in it went 10 mins of thumping, screaming i put the other jill in to get it moving whi

  21. I used to go to Mount Grace Priory North Yorkshire as a teenager & that is exactely the same riddled with holes as the ground is very soft if you lent on a young tree it would uproot .We would get only a few rabbits even tho the dropppings, bark stripping, runs, etc has to be seen to be believed. We worked 4 ferts at a time & netted up with everything we had & it was a slog the warren(s) just to big & probalies deep with the ferts getting the run around all day. After you,ve had a few outings im sure you,ll get to suss out whats happening there as previously quoted pehaps you need
