  9. if it runs across it my dog follows, simple really same as my dogs . in the day if a rabbit or fox is running across it so is my dog. on the lamp i tend to watch the ploughed fields as my dog tends to hit any bumps in the ground a bit hard
  10. i got a set of couples here what aint sewn into the collar .. got them given to me but im sure they came from strong stuff
  11. my tip would be train your dog right ... nowt worse than a dog gone for 10 minutes working the field putting everything to ground . a dog that retrieves is also 100% better than one what doesnt in m eyes. another tip is dont get disheartened if your dog isnt catching as much as a mates dog. be happy with how your dog does
  12. cocker spainles mate they are good hard working to price for a good pup is around 400 no its a bit much but thats what they cast if you want one that really trains it self so the more expensive a dog the easier it is to train???? i dont have ANY experience with training gun dogs but know a couple of people who do... and theyed both advice you to go for a springer out of working stuff as they seem to be easier to train than a cocker (can be alot more head strong) if you post what type of work your going to be doing with the dog people will be able to advice you a bit easier
  13. personnally i would say dont breed until the dog as proven its self ... a 2/3 yr old dog is not proven but if youve got your head set on breeding him why not use a whippet/grey , cracking little dogs and if out of the right stuff will do hare and fox if they lift the ban

  18. 12 volt 14 amp upwards is your best battery . the striker is the same as tonys .... if you are doing rabbits mainly get a lance (140) thats the one im using at the moment. yes your allowed to do fox ...... if you ask some one who aint a dopey shit they would tell you all i have just said . ps already told you ill see how much my battery will cost for postage from england and you can have that if its cheaper than buying a new one .
  19. i also would like to know this because there was two hound packs ... one in the north one in the south still running deer a 2/3 yrs ago .... dont know if they still do or not. i did email the countryside alliance about it but got no reply
  20. Hosie .... collie/bull/greyhound 24 1/2" tts 3 yrs old taking rabbit flushing hare and currently running fox doubled up
  21. id say about 25/26 but 2nd generations can throw alot taller than the parents due to there being greyhound on both sides ... (can also throw small due to the bull)... when looking at dogs i normally go for a rough estimate of half way between both parents height. dont always work but its always going to be a guess till the dogs finished growing
