  1. So long as the slips are dry inside, I wouldn’t think it matters?
  2. Well vm, it’s Friday afternoon, it’s raining, time to knock off early and get yourself into that washroom. I’m itching to know what these 10 grain .177 slugs are like??
  3. Yerr, second that. Spot on in my impact .22?
  4. Is that your living room??
  5. It will be interesting, will you be trying them in hw100? Hopefully the weather won’t be too bad for you, the weekend looks a bit hit and miss this week. Wind and rain coming over, shite for May.
  6. Have you received those .177 slugs yet vm, the ten grain ones?
  7. Exactly the same here Ben, another Maggie this morning but no crows and rooks. There’s plenty out in the middle of the fields, hmr fodder like you say. Seems the only way to get ‘em at the moment ??
  8. Oh no, don’t tell me you’re using that fangled metric measurement as well. Bleddy hell man, what happened to the good old feet and inches? ? At least you’re counting distance in yards and not them daft bleddy metres?? Slugs look pretty good though??
  9. I used to shoot with a chap who had an anschutz 250 back in the late seventies/early eighties. I thought it was lovely to shoot, but out of my price range at the time. I’m liking the lg55t John, that’s a beauty. That or hw55 is an air rifle I’d buy at the right price. I do know where there’s an hw55t for sale, or at least it was last time I went, but they want about £550 for it I think. I thought that was a bit on the dear side, but I may be wrong? It has been known, occasionally ??
  10. I think it depends somewhat on how many someone has been using on average. If someone only bought a thousand rounds of .22 rimfire in five years for example, the firearms officer might think that they don’t need six hundred at a time? I recently had my .22 allowance increased, but I did have good reason and there was no problem.
  11. Yerr, you could be right Jon, I can’t really find a definitive answer. I’ve read that to be an air rifle, overall length needs to be 60cm minimum and I’ve also read that so long as it has a shoulder stock it’s a rifle. As such, I’m not sure now. I wonder if the police might know??
  12. Ian, stop beating about the bush.........just tell it like it is for gods sake.......???
  13. Yerr, where it all started a whole year ago, and a great thread it’s been........and still is........?? .....and what a year it’s been eh’
  14. Let us know how you get on Phil ??
  15. Yerr, flat heads Phil, work very well on rats and don’t penetrate too much. They flatten and expand quickly. They’re fast as well, doing about 660fps in my .22 hw99. These are some hobby and rws hollow point that I’ve just found in the shed while looking for garden canes. I could send you some to try Phil? I think they’ve been there for some time?
  16. Well, I’ve got a Simmons WTC 3.5-10 x 50 on mine. Set up at 100, point and shoot out to 120. Hmr isn’t a 150 yard fox calibre, 100 yards maybe, head shot. I don’t rate them for anything other than head shot on fox. They will work but tend to run on engine room shots. 20 grain are your best bet for that. WMR is a better rimfire for fox imo.
  17. I’m interested in how they perform at 12ft lb and it would be interesting to see how they perform at around 20ft lbs. I don’t think .177 fac is very popular though, rightly or wrongly I don’t know, but it would be interesting all the same. ?
  18. My little brocock contour likes them, it’s mag is very pellet fussy, but it loves the field heavy?. I’ve never tried any rs though, but my hw99s doesn’t like jsb express at all, strangely, but likes those cheapo bisley wasps.....?
