    If they fragment on impact, that’s good. Are they available in .22 vm? Good shooting ??

    Yerr, the .22’s are with slugs, I was hitting a golf ball consistently at 100 yards with relative ease, and they hit hard?

    Looks ok Sam, maybe the hopper feed hole might be a bit small if you’re using peanuts? If they get damp they tend to block up a bit.

    Yerr, .22 is better all round at 12ft lb. I’ve had a couple of 12ft lb .25’s , still got one. They’re ok at 20-25 yards but I’ve found that they don’t seem too accurate at longer range. I’m reckoning that maybe they aren’t carrying enough speed and start to lose stability, I could be wrong?

    No they aren’t, that’s why I stated 3:1/2.?

    I’ve had them up to around 1000fps/40ft lbs and they’re ok, can’t see them doing well much faster than that. I’ve never tried the redesigned monsters but I have some of the older ones. I’ve never pushed them hard but I’d expect them to be ok up to 55ft lb or a bit more maybe?

    I see your point vm, but these rs pellets seem to work well at 900fps and will have better knock down power than a 12ft lb .177...they would be good for rookery shooting for example. Overall though, I agree that for general use the 18 grain are a better all round choice. The rs at 24ft lbs offer and in between option if required, turn the power up and the 18’s come into their own?

    Opinion is often divided regarding shooting jays. I’ve shot a fair few myself over the years. When I was checking trap lines yesterday, a jay seemed to be following me around. I didn’t have a gun on me, but I’d got no interest in shooting it anyway. The amount of songbird nests that don’t make it to the fledgling stage narks me off though. I know it’s not all down to jays, but they play their part in it.

    That’s my idea too Phil. Like you, I find the 16 grain jsb excellent, and the 18 grain even better at higher output. I don’t think they could be beaten in my impact. H&N slugs are good as well, but not always necessary in my opinion. At 24ft lbs though, the RS look to have potential ?

    I’ve been using jsb 18 grain in my fac impact for a while, and they’re very good. But just out of interest, I thought I’d try some 13.4 grain jsb exact rs. Only tried them at 30 yards for an idea of accuracy at different speeds. Well, they’re ok at 800, 850 and even 900fps, but somewhere between 900 and 980ish they look like they’re starting to lose the plot. I tried them at 1026fps but didn’t bother turning the power up any more than that, as accuracy was starting to suffer and they wouldn’t be subsonic either.     I’ve had them split on the neck, never on the rim. As I haven’t had any problems with hmr ammo for a while, I thought the problems might have been resolved? I think Remington’s might be old stock if you can get them. I believe that nobody is importing Remington rimfire ammo at the moment, but I could be wrong? I’ve been using hornady’s and cci tnt’s and they’ve been accurate and reliable.

    I haven’t shot a 99 in .177, but in .22 they’re decent out of the box. Mine is v-Mach and shoots really smooth and accurate.

    3:1/2 maxus will take any 12 gauge load.
