    There is little definition. Just eye shine. When it came trotting past at a good 40y I could barely see it! I will test it some more as soon as possible.

    Well after mornings and night obs I finally caught up with one of the cubs. A cub vixen so that's good. I got a green pill for my lamp and it was oblivious to it but then again cubs are oblivious to any lamp! Definition is worse though. Anyhow she came trotting past me at something like forty yards so I loosed 40g of #3 from a vintage 1980's Viri cartridge. Saw nothing else but "I'll be back"!

    Well it's been a lousy day! I work four 10hr days and look forward to Friday. I spend time with my granddaughter and get a walk in but this morning I was fatigued and stressed. The foreman at work is a complete @$$ and likes to wind me up. Any way he got to me.... again! Eventually I motivated my self and got going. I thought I will go and check the crops for rabbit damage but chose not to take a rifle. I've shot them 22's enough lately due to losing confidence in my rifleman skills but have had a nagging desire to take my 45 long rifle out. It was funny really. All the worry about m

    Philip, fill your boots with any CF rifle you desire. I did and you should too. It was the notion of " better" being expressed by someone that has never owned or displayed any evidence of ownership of what they advise!

    This notion of better. It cracks me up. A more accurate term would be " I think more is better". It's not! I shoot no less fox with rimfires than I did with a wide range of centerfires. All a bigger or larger capacity rifle does is put pressure on the operator to work it at great distance however as range increases so does potential for error, with error comes disappointment. Only someone that watches edited video's of success with no actual experience will believe that more is better but believe me eventually with aging eyesight, aching limbs and hair loss one tends t

    I stopped stalking deer when they brought it in on some forestry I was in. I remember it coming in just after the handgun ban. Thousands of handgunners thought ooh paper work...easy peasy. Then they had to drag their first beast out! That was the end of them!! Oh look, no one deer stalking anymore, well I never!

    Years ago on a 5000 acre estate that's what we did. We drove about off road and private roads sniping vermin and there was always a shotgun for close up work. Good fun, well it was until we spotted a grass snake warming itself on the muck pile and I encouraged my mate to grab it. The snake as he held it up shot out of its arse the most foul stinking green slime I have ever had the pleasure off, all down his trouser leg! Initially it was funny for me but then I realized there was no way I could leave him there!
