  1. I doubt it mate. They were from the 70's IIRC about 25 years ago! My dealer has some S&B ( Duncan's) but my marlin auto won't handle them. I would buy some if I could single load them but it's to much of a fiddle, I tried a few I scrounged recently. I like S&B ammo. Wish we saw more of it personally.
  2. Grandchildren are a gift. A responsibility. An opportunity of endless amounts of education and enlightenment can be given or instructed. Say like recognizing vermin and non vermin species. Invasive and indigenous species etc. Our granddaughter is responding well and it warms my heart to see years of training paying off ? ?
  3. Years ago I got some high velocity Winchester superx hollow point shorts and they were mustard on rabbits. Think I shot them to 70 yds easily.
  4. That's brilliant. I only ever had one rifle feed any length 22 from a clip, a Winchester 69a.
  5. Just a minute Mr.....does your annie feed shorts?
  6. I didn't know that....did it cure his knees?
  7. I tried it once. They taste awefull. Can't see what folk like about them. Even offered one to the dog, just looked at me!
  8. When I use to shoot crows with a 6mm I use to see their two wings go off twirling in the air. The 70g TNT's were mustard.
  9. What was the distance Stav? Good job your doing, get them mopped up before the birds turn up.
  10. Them lapwings love you ( probably more than us).
  11. Yes this I know it's just I thought some were implying it removes copper too. Didn't think they would. The combustion deposits of modern powders and primers are very safe corrosion wise. It's water via combustion or condensation which does the damage. I guess a snake would take that out but if the rifle is very cold when brought inside it might be worth waiting for it to warm up otherwise the condensation might just be replaced with more condensation.
  12. The old stuff is carcinogenic. It contained benzene. Benzene fumes are very dangerous let alone in liquid form. I am very careful with it and rush to wash my hands asap with my old bottles.
  13. I've got some grass coming off any minute. Can't wait ?
  14. I'm getting to old in the eye sight mate for rifles with any reach. A little over 100yds is long enough these days buddy.
  15. Further testing today with the wmr in the wind tonight confirmed a couple of things for me. Shooting a rimfire in good wind up to 200yds is folly. That's the first point. The second is that my right eye is pants, infact, both are no where near what they were a decade ago. So spotting rabbits unless perfectly lit up is getting difficult for me. So there is no point me getting a mouse rifle, I won't see them and when I squint through the glass with my right eye everything goes darker anyway! The longest shot today was a woodie at about 140yd. The rabbits were 10yd to 80yd or
  16. My two bottles of #9 are 30 years old and it ought pass as a good malt now but it don't!
  17. I just need the room. The cabinets are rammed. One was given so I'm offering it out just the same. Bloody ell, you can't fart around here with out the whole world noticing!
