  1. Actually the box was all mixed. I think some one had tried to guess which were HV. I remember using this vintage eley decades ago and I liked them. They eley HV was always a favourite of mine. A true 22hv without trying to be bigger and better. Shot many a fox with out any dramas. Accurate in any 22 I owned. These yesterday shot as expected. Whacking a 4" stone at 150y off hand and rested, I missed more off hand but not by much, my right eye goes writes after a while so have to struggle on or take a break. The most fun was the shorts. I wish my rifle could feed them. They shot g
  2. Shot 12 more yesterday. One jack, two rooks and the rest were solitary crows coming to decoys!
  3. ....I was done shooting. I got some old 22ammo today for a bargain so put it to some good use, practice! It did me good. Some of it was 22 short which I have to load singles but hey they are fun. The old eley club ( a favourite of mine for years) was the best repeatedly hitting a 4" stone at 150 strides. Good fun. Had a chat with the farmer about my vixen from last night and was informed that the dog fox was sighted yesterday too! Not tonight though, knackered!
  4. Yeah they think I'm an eccentric vegan, fools them every time.
  5. Yes, they get fed up with me playing my digderedoo and drawing rude pictures of the queen so they let me out late at night when all the kids are in bed.
  6. Thanks for that Meece. All I know is that on this crippled dairy farm 2" from financial ruin they don't need a TB reaction from avian TB causing a false alarm. I had Jackie's this spring poking straw down my chimney despite the cowling. Ain't gonna happen. Idiots can wrap us up in red tape all they want but it won't effect the real world and as you gracefully put it I also don't give the proverbial for biased rules and regs clearly set against me as a person and of no benefit to wildlife what so ever. If they do take my license then so be it. But be assured, it would
  7. Stuff the NV! I just took my lamp and a gun mounted lamp. Went to check that earth I found. Been up since 4am, 10 hours at work etc I didne want to walk far. I turned around and flashed the field again before it went out of view. Bingo, a glint. I got in the field and walked in but stayed in the shade from the moon's light. A good squeal and the one eyed given came in a treat although cautiously. At 70 yards or so she stopped facing me. The sears tripped effortlessly and the thump on this still night was clearly heard. She crumpled and never moved. She is not suckling
  8. Actually Meece the other day I had nothing but solitary crows coming in.
  9. Talking of eBay....I just bought a lightweight summer khaki jacket because I'm sick of wearing army gear (it don't match the PJ's) and it's bloody XXL women's ?. Now got send it back and I put in the filter box men only (honest). Bloody eBay?
  10. Did they mind you chasing the geese across their garden in your car? Awefully nice folk your way, they would go nuts here! ? ?
  11. Yep, generation after generation has been mind sterilised and stereotyped. No more broad spectrum live and let live principles exist anymore. The irony is though most of today's youth don't mind graphic violent films or violent computer games. Killing fellow humans is entertainment, killing an animal is now disgusting!
  12. And I thought I was tight! Rock on brother ?
  13. Lol. You could of give him an airgun you tight....?
  14. Cut grass....best thing since sliced bread for fox control.
  15. It's not just a long sighted thing. I also have a stigmatism meaning my brain can't synchronize the eyes so the right one ends up blurred even at distance. Interestingly, if I go crosseyed vision is perfect! Still not conducive for good shooting!
  16. Can't recommend the back yard, that's what the 410 is for!
  17. Excellent. How I miss my .25 striker. Got some pellets here if you want them. Rws 30gn. PM me if you want them.
  18. I just use my rimfires on them. Don't take much.
  19. No. At this rate I'm going to need a camo wheelbarrow to shoot a bloody fox! I'm going to keep it simple thanks.
  20. Nothing wrong with 21g #9 at 60yards! I knew they would come in handy one day.
  21. I had a close friend that had one and he was a cracking shot with it! When I had a go of it, it shot lovely. Sat on target so well and came to the shoulder like a shotgun. Happy times, no idea where he is these days, miserable phart.
  22. Tell me about it...! Lock down....what bloody lock down! I've said it before but I can't wait for the pubs, cafes and trinkets shops to reopen! It's a tiny island and completely over run with humans. I have to go out at silly o'clock if I don't want to see anyone!
