    Not sure Dave. It had not gone in the soft timber deep. I think it became a jagged nugget in the squirrel.

    .... always interests me when it come to bullets from rimfires. For a while now I have had the notion that WMR hornady v max are not as explosive launched from this cartridge as they would say from hornet or greater. I'm ok with it as I like two holes in critters. My notion was confirmed somewhat via the forty yard squirrel and the lime tree stump today! The vmax raked the full length of the squirrel and then partially buried it self in the tree stump. I dug it out and it although mashed was still for the most part together! It'll be interesting how the HMR does!

    I know every rifle is different and all that but my wmr was very ammo fussy. It was however just bad bedding. When I fixed it it was suddenly hard to decide which ammo was worse, they all grouped all of a sudden! Sounds like this may also be a trait of hmr too! It's ok, I'm use to fixing this kind of thing. I've got to refinish the stock so will be checking the bedding also ?

    Yes mate. I am aware that CCI make most of the HMR ammo. Another question to ask probably should be, is there and difference or customisation between the different brands? They, the customer may stipulate a powder type or their own maybe.

    I will get a box of every thing. Looking forward to it. I just hope the mice breed well this summer.

    My dealer says he has some Winchester. Anyone tried them?

    You don't know how happy I am that you got a slinky to frustrate you ? Took me near three years! Now I have another lamp shy turn up. Worse than slinky 1! Slinky 1 would at least give me the finger! This one nothing! When I find out who is educating them I will be having words!

    Yeah got some but I do no better with them to be honest and finding my fillings in the grass is a real pain!

    So are your eyes close together as well? ? I'm not much help mate sorry I always end up with to high a comb if I get it wrong purchase wise. I usually have to remove timber! I have bent one sxs stock with hot oil but it takes ages unless you have a proper set up. I don't know of anyone that does it but I bet some one does somewhere.

    That was good indeed. There seems to be a pattern favouring Hornady ammunition!

    Maybe I'll just get the one box of 20g to test with and aim to stick with 17g. Sounds all wrong don't it 17g ?
