Stop it now lads I'm getting a stitch.....
No it's my turn to eat my words!
I popped down the store after work and was handed a cz 452 with a heavy barrel and some ammo and told where to go (I'm used to being told where to go) down the fields.
I shot just ten rounds off hand at rabbit sized pebbles at 100yds or so and was connecting nearly all the time and the few that missed just went high a touch. 6x scope. The rifle just sits there!
Sold.
He has 20g ammo. I'm gonna try it first. It has to be better for Charlie no?
To expensive. And I'm not reloading any more.
I am thinking for the same or less audio crack from a 22hv the HMR will give a greater return.
The 22 LR is good but I'm use to more powerful rounds and it always seems wanting somehow.
It's not which mate but the cal. It's just not enough and I'm just wasting money on ammo to plink where as on a nice day if I can sneak up on a crow 150 yards away I may do a little better.
I always said I would keep the wmr over any 22lr etc.
Subbies are like a wet phart and HV for all the noise is little better, if I'm going to make a crack then let's make it effective!
I'm going to have a go.
See what all the fuss is over!
Fed up with the 22 anyway.
I'm going.....are you sitting down.....
Go for a 17 hmr!
Now you have a short time to talk me out of it.
I'm not spending big money but my local has a marlin 917 Vs in for reasonable money.
There it's out now. It better shoot or you lot are for it!
My Mrs got me some essentials the other day.
She is good at that and knowing how I usually blow the bottoms of them out regularly when she spotted a bargain she got them for me.
Now then, I noticed the high pressure steel shot proof mark on them!
Is it called the fluer de lyes thingy?
Anyway, is it safe to load steel in these?
It's the same for me mate. My local game dealer moved and then folded!
My Mrs worked at a farm shop every Saturday for seven years.
I supplied them about ten oven ready jointed rabbits most weeks year round.
Then she quit ?
Shame non of you are here!
As the annoying chefs on the crap cooking TV say, " it's so good".
Meat marinated in tirriyakki sauce. Then fried with some smoked bacon. Potatoes, peppers , rice, salt and pepper added.
