  1. Weather forecasting is pants today on any device. Computers have taken over and they don't care if they get it wrong. It was better years ago when hoomans that were interested in their job did the weather.
  2. Or....just don't buy any....or maybe just a box and keep a few in a pocket, replace them when the printing wares off them!
  3. When I was a mechanic decades ago a family brought their Audi in. They could not get a proper reading on the dip stick! It's was his wife's car and he worked away a lot. The car did one mile to school in the morning and one mile in the afternoon! At the time Audi said oil change every 10 thou and the family thought it was ok to follow that! The sump was full of sludge, the cam box was solid with a tar like sludge. We had to jet wash the engine inside! Cams out, head off and sump off. It all worked out ok and for the next two years they dumped Audi service and came to u
  4. Don't start me on timing belts!
  5. Thanks buddy. Some trades have it rough in these conditions. Take care everyone.
  6. Now that does sound appealing!
  7. Cheers mate. It's not been to bad here today ?
  8. Bloody ell. Someone's gonna come out with a tent and petrol genny next!
  9. I would need toilet roll in mine! It's not a bad idea this, I should look into it.
  10. Each year I like to kick off on the pheasants with a muzzleloader. I managed to do it again this year. The break in the rains saw me out after work. We flushed a bird at about 25yds, left to right. The 36g load of #6 had it coming down about forty yards away in thick nettles! I fancy diced and cooked in white wine and dijon mustard for this one. Happy hunting you feller's this season.
  11. Sorry mate, I got all confused....again. I don't have a duster now but did and I thought it was brilliant. Off road it went better than my jimney's. I put some Salem's ( I think they were called) on it and in the snow and off road were way better than stock fitting. The Nissan four wheel drive system is a good one but yes get some better boots on it Dave. Don't send any more of those pictures though mate ?.
  12. I use to use Speer tnt, they weren't to bad. Sierra soft points are also good as mentioned. Nosler ballistic tips don't seem to be as messy as v max in my experience. Personally I prefere a tougher bullet than these thin jacketed explosive types. I have seen several times shallow wounds from super fast frangible bullets! Rifling type can play a huge role in how the jacket peels open too! So one rifle can make more mess than another with the same bullet at the same speed!

  14. Nowt wrong with Wales or your Mrs, she must be a saint after all but Wales I know like the back of my hand from my motorcycling days see and all the beaches from family holidays. Went the east coast this time, a first for me and the beaches were covered in flint, I have a use for flint ?
  15. It explains the posh holiday! Posh rifle! I have to make do with Wales and old 22''s me.?
  16. You have the patience of a saint mate. I looked at the weather and hit the vodka! Yep, shooting high velocity bullets in the rain can be problematic...a 22 or shotgun for me in rain .
  17. Some have used fibre and a card protective cylinder but I don't know who. They use to be available to reloader from suppliers.
  18. Excellent choice. If there is one bolt action I mis it's my 527's. Petite little Mauser, light to carry, good trigger, a centerfire rifle that's like shooting a 22!
  19. Don't neglect an oil change folks! For the past few weeks I noticed I was starting to hear my turbo. It's only a tiny unit on a petrol but when I got the vehicle in spring I could hear nothing from it. So I changed the oil on Saturday and silence has returned from the turbo! Don't neglect the oil and if I may suggest....don't stick to the redicueless service intervals on modern vehicles! My car said it had 6000 miles to the next service, I reset the service countdown and it said 12500 miles! I DON'T THINK SO! SD.
  20. The case would need to be water proof. Which can not be guaranteed with a star crimp. A roll crimp can.
  21. That's ok, we need good riflemen here too. We all started with an air rifle and some of us still shoot one daily.
  22. Kent cartridge were making photobiodegradable plastic wad decades ago. I use to still find them decades after too! I often wondered what toxic substances they broke down into too! I'll shut up now before I open another can of worms!
  23. Sure sure, I was tired, long day at work ect. Incidentally the heaviest I weighed in my 20's was 23lb too.
  24. Can I frame that mug shot stav? It should keep the grandchild off the stove! ?
