    There was a test done a few years ago I read. Someone measured a spring and wound it down on a threaded rod and left it for different time lengths. Nothing changed its length over a day or two (iirc). I seem to recall it shortened by 2mm after months of compression. But who is going to do that! Mine are cocked as soon as I start hunting. Never had an issue.

    I went to check some ground on an estate I had not visited for several weeks and was met with far from so called lock down measures! Ramblers everywhere!     I knew two keepers from those times. Vermin vermin vermin. That's all they were focused on. They had jibs they hung the vermin on. One was a 30yd wire rope full of rotting vermin hanging off it and where the gaffa could drive past it to inspect.

    It's not that low a pressure. 45,000 psi is getting up there. It would be good in a combination gun yes.

    Yet again the law is far from perfect in this regard. It's a compromise. It tries to cater for the useless dog training the usual average dog owner is but also tried to cover the serious loss of a food producer that has invested time and money in their live stock. It is also a compromise because the parliament that makes these laws are in fear of the voter!     It is a good round. It went out of fashion. Still used by clubs for range use. It's more popular in Canada than the UK. I would have no issues using a a light sporter in 303.

    Mate of mine use to bring his .270 for foxing. Old Bertha never failed except when he forgot the ammo one night! So we used my wmr instead. We did no worse for it. Three fox's that night.
