  2. Your kidding aren't you! I can get a twanger for a lot less fully equipped, err for target shooting of course. ?
  3. What you aiming for? About 1800fps? Did you slug the bore, are they a few thou more than groove diameter?
  4. Oh yes I remember now, you said before...yeah it's good lube for nitro rounds ? Take care buddy.
  5. Now I am really worried for you
  6. There was a test done a few years ago I read. Someone measured a spring and wound it down on a threaded rod and left it for different time lengths. Nothing changed its length over a day or two (iirc). I seem to recall it shortened by 2mm after months of compression. But who is going to do that! Mine are cocked as soon as I start hunting. Never had an issue.
  7. £1100!!! I don't bloody think so! They are only a few hundred dollars! Forget it, cheaper buy a bow. Thanks everyone.
  8. Thank you. Any ideas for stockists?
  9. That's quite a hard mix Gav, no? What lube you using?
  10. Are they legal in Britain. I fancy the umerex airjavelin but don't see it for sale! I may of read something in the firearms guidance years ago but I don't know if anything has changed. Please advise, thanks. SD.
  11. I'm glad it wasn't, one old mate would of had him suspended off it too!
  12. I went to check some ground on an estate I had not visited for several weeks and was met with far from so called lock down measures! Ramblers everywhere! Some obviously not from the same household too! Dogs running wild. The air was filled with barking dogs and the gay abandonment of a people completely out of tune with their surroundings! I found pheasants cowering in corners of fields trying to conceal them selves from marauding dogs and their indifferent owners! I thought to myself how much I long for the " lock down" to end so all the trinket shop's and cafe's can reopen at
  13. I knew two keepers from those times. Vermin vermin vermin. That's all they were focused on. They had jibs they hung the vermin on. One was a 30yd wire rope full of rotting vermin hanging off it and where the gaffa could drive past it to inspect.
  14. What is that rifle? I can't just figure it out although the dog leg bolt handle looks vaguely familiar.
  15. Should I be concerned about your assessment of my personality?
  16. It's not that low a pressure. 45,000 psi is getting up there. It would be good in a combination gun yes.
  17. Is the large scope for when shooting mice?
  18. A classic case where there was no time for a lengthy discourse. Immediate action was required and common sense prevailed. And as pointed out it is not just the immediate damage being done. The aftermath is as bad!
  19. Yet again the law is far from perfect in this regard. It's a compromise. It tries to cater for the useless dog training the usual average dog owner is but also tried to cover the serious loss of a food producer that has invested time and money in their live stock. It is also a compromise because the parliament that makes these laws are in fear of the voter! The law does not credit anyone with common sense either but rather threatens anyone acting to an emergency situation as borderline criminal. Completely unreasonable! To imply that a farmer or agent of his in the right place a
  20. It is a good round. It went out of fashion. Still used by clubs for range use. It's more popular in Canada than the UK. I would have no issues using a a light sporter in 303.
  21. SSS. Shoot it. Shovel it. Shut up. They ain't "pets" if someone doesn't care where they roam to cause trouble! Any bad blood is born from the lousy dog keeping, not defending livestock.
  22. He is referring to a probation period for a new licence holder. After the first license period of five years it becomes 'open' . A request can be made earlier than five years. But yes....welcome to Britain, the land of experts controling the peasants!
  23. Excellent story, thanks Ben ? Amazing critters, that's why I love them so much. I'm pitching my wits against something way smarter than I ever will be!
  24. Mate of mine use to bring his .270 for foxing. Old Bertha never failed except when he forgot the ammo one night! So we used my wmr instead. We did no worse for it. Three fox's that night.
